FWIW, that wasn’t the case for our D in terms of order. Purdue was one of her first visit schools ; )
We were original schedule for an April tour. We have moved it up and will be visiting in the next two weeks. Decided it would be better to see it sooner rather than later to allow a week or two to make a final decision and while all the other visits were fresh in our memory.
Should I schedule for a tour/admitted student event now?
Yes! Historically they do fill up quickly.
Yes! It may already be too late. Some are filled. I am not sure if they open up new dates for the regular decision round or not. Today, Purdue extended the deposit deadlines due to the FAFSA delays. So there is more time to visit at least, even if unofficially.
Here’s the link to the announcement. Purdue University extends admission and housing deadlines to accommodate FAFSA delays - Purdue University News.
Hi momofboiler1, with May 15 the new commit day, do you know how that affects housing, if at all?
Purdue updated the dates on their housing portal to reflect the changed commitment day:
Please note the priority deadline for new students to submit their application is May 5, 2024 to express their interest in Learning Communities, request roommates, and submit housing accommodation requests to the Disability Resource Center. These requests will be taken after May 5 up until the submission deadline of May 19, 2024 and will be considered as space permits but are not guaranteed.
Anyone get a RD yet?
I think next Friday is probably the earliest possible date for the first wave, and even then I would guess it might be later cause of the increase in deferrals and applications in general
Daughter EA deferred status changed to accepted Wednesday Feb 21. We were shocked based on comments in this forum. Statuses changed on days other than Friday’s!
Great news and congrats! Questions, was there an email regarding a status change or did you/she randomly check the portal? How quick did she respond to the LOCI?
She received an email Wednesday evening notifying her of a status change and to check the portal. She submitted her LOCI, additional SAT scores, and first semester grades on January 25th. We are extremely excited because Purdue was the only instate school she applied to. Her mother and I were beginning to get scared about scholarships and cost of out of state tuition. Out of state schools she is admitted to and had some interest in is Kentucky and Cincinnati. Still waiting on decision from University of Florida. Good luck hope you hear good news soon.
UF came out last night
Yup, daughter messed up her application and pushed out her decision date to end of March. She is most likely going to Purdue.
My counselor sent purdue my first semester grades (it shows up in the documents tab) but I didnt self report them in the portal. should I also self report them or is the official mid year transcript fine?
I believe the letter asked to self report, so suggest you self report, it won’t hurt.
yeah it did, youre probably right, I will.
where do you self report?
