Purdue University: Class of 2024 Discussion/Decision Thread

Guessing its good news for you @justcheckingin and @Jenn723 !!!

@justcheckingin @jenn723 are you guys in-state?

I’m out of state

We are OOS and I’m in the Midwest on business. My applicant daughter is joining me on Thursday to visit a couple schools including Purdue, assuming she gets in. The timing is a nail biter!

I am in state

@justcheckingin @Jenn723
Do you have a Reply Tab which just popped up on your Admission Portal?

nope, do you?

@Jenn723 Yes. It’s a blank tab. The tab is named Reply Forms. But it doesn’t have anything in it.

Would you be willing to share your kid’s stats? @justcheckingin

For what it’s worth, son’s application doesn’t show this, and he is an MIT and Caltech admit with perfect stats and international awards in his discipline-related academic extracurriculars.

He is applying for CS though, and my understanding is merit is very scarce there for OOS students. We do not take anything for granted.

Are scholarships typically announced at the same time as admissions? For some reason I was under an impression they may not be out till Feb, but I could be wrong.

The portal website says “ Some students will not be required to pay the $400 deposit but still must accept their offer of admission by the appropriate deadline. The online student system, myPurdue, recognizes students who are exempt from the fee, and will allow them to accept their offer online without the payment.”

Not sure what criteria waives the fee for some, but this info was on the website.

Does your portal say fee waived like the other 2? We don’t have that here.

No it doesn’t.

Literally since I just typed, there is now a big graphic on the top of his application status page that has 4 “buttons” that say “view your decision,” “Come visit, your shades are waiting,” “See your next steps,” and “letters and documents.”

5pm tonight it seems, they just added a button

AND both a “change major” form and “cancel your application” links have been added to his profile and applications changes section.

Change major is there, cancel app is back, and 2 new buttons with decision and documents/letter are there, but don’t do anything when you click it.

I noticed after clicking the new “change major” button that my first choice major (chemistry) is in the “from” box. I know last years forum had this discussion as well about the change major button, and some people saw their second choice major in it

Sure. OOS, 4.3 GPA, 30 ACT, excellent essays, tons of AP and double maths, varsity cheer, tons of clubs and nhs. Gifted program. Musical.

I see this too.
