Purdue University: Class of 2024 Discussion/Decision Thread

i just want to post an update, i received notification today that i was accepted fye! i wish everyone best of luck in hearing back from all of their universities!

Waitlisted CS?, if someone got a better option than purdue, I request him/her to decline the purdue offer as soon as possible so that it can boost up my chances for getting accepted to.my dream school. I haven’t recieved any acceptance letter as of now, as a result of which I am more inclined towards this offer.

my DS got in his second choice major, neurobio at 10 am ET yesterday. The application portal update ahead and the congrats email sent in next couple hours, It looks like no more vacancy in his first choice CS. but DS is still happy with the result. Best wish for all still waiting a decision.

My DS got into COE last night! He is oos and applied RD and will likely attend. They are still releasing, so good luck to those still waiting!

my DD got into COE yest after being deferred from EA. Good luck to all those are waiting. We are instate.

Did any waitlisted students get updates regarding their decision?

No, waiting for it only. Btw what is your major?

@programmer13 FYE. yours?

D got into Pharma, but as summer start… we prefer to start in fall…

Question: Can some one switch to fall as their incoming semester instead of summer

@krisdan Summer start is usually for students the university feels needs some academic shoring up to be successful. My D’s friends who did it LOVED it.

That said, I wonder if Covid-19 will make the university more flexible about this or allow for online classes from home. Worth a call to ask.

I am declining my acceptance in the next couple of days. I decided to go MSU.

Has anyone gotten off waitlist for ME yet? Is there a separate thread for waitlisted students?

@lakmak I’m wondering the same. Anyone know anything about Purdue’s engineering waitlist?

@hadysomar thankyou so much
@rjjjj33944 Computer science

My daughter will be declining her OOS Presidential scholarship, FYE spot, and Honors College spot in the next couple of days. Hopefully, they can reallocate those funds to another deserving applicant. I’m a little sad, but USC gave her a package that was too good to pass up.

Hey guys. A bit late but I was accepted RD for CS. Also got accepted to Georgia Tech for CS which was my top so I’ll be withdrawing my application here; hopefully that spot goes to one of you anxious to get in!

Thanks to folks who are withdrawing as they have picked their top choices. Helps those in waitlist.

@TXgreen I have not personally applied for CODO but I have a few friends who tried to CODO into a different major and were rejected. From what I’ve heard, CODO is pretty hard here. The look very specifically at certain classes and the grades that you earned in them for a specific major. You can look at the reddit page for Purdue r/Purdue as all of the current students can help you with that info.

Does anyone know if the Back A Boiler program is a good option to cover costs starting from sophomore year? Also does this cover the entire costs of attendance or only a portion of it?

Hey guys. Does anyone has any idea about the number of ppl purdue accepts from the waitlist for the college of engineering generally?
