Again, I could be wrong, but I’m using some of the “insights” I’ve gained from trolling other sites, such as Michigan EA, where someone shared the “x” theory, which was spot on. Also, my D’s profile probably wasn’t strong enough for Purdue’s engineering program as he has a 3.8 wtd gpa, but a 34 ACT with strong letters & ECs. He was deferred by Michigan & Illinois.
Cancel your application option is missing from ours too.
Where was “cancel your application”? I see bar with Welcome, Checklist and Status, Upload Documents, Profile and Application Changes… was it there??
The “cancel your application” link was under Profile and Application Changes. Again, I could be wrong, so I hate to ruin anyone’s weekend, but I thought it was worth sharing.
It could mean that they reviewed your application and decision is already made and that is why you can’t cancel your application at this point. I don’t see how it can indicate rejection… it can be either one (acceptance or rejection)… just the fact that decision is made, IMHO

I think this makes more sense. My DD’s “Cancel your application” button too is gone. She got admitted at Michigan/tOSU etc. and I consider her a strong candidate for admission to Purdue. SO I think (hope?) this disappearance necessarily indicates a rejection.

Full disclosure. I don’t remember if the “Cancel your application” was there or not to begin with. So it’s not accurate for me to say “it’s gone”. Just suffice to say I don’t see it as of now.

Good detective work. The link was there yesterday. Today not. It has to mean a hard reject because their Accept Your Offer page says if you want to decline your offer you need to go to the Cancel My App link in your application. Can’t mean a deferral for the same reason (they warned counselors on their page for them that they plan more deferrals this year). Dang it. Dang it. Dang it.

No Cancel link in my S’s portal either (never looked before). While it does say click the Cancel My App button to decline an offer (suggesting the disappearance of this button is a hard rejection), it also seems unlikely that nobody so far has been deferred or accepted. Maybe the button will return for some?
Our portal says:
If you wish to decline (cancel) your admission offer, you may submit the application cancel form within your Purdue application portal.
That doesn’t seem to reference a “cancel my app” button. I’m not going to be worried about this until someone sees something radically different on their page.
We’re all talking about the same thing. It’s a link in your student’s portal to cancel the app. That’s how you decline them. Other schools do the same thing to decline your offer. You cancel your app so they know. That link is gone for many of our kids.
@BookishSort – Based on the unscientific poll here, the link is gone for everyone. Nobody has reported still having the button/link. That’s why I’m not convinced we should all pack it in quite yet.
