DS link is gone, too. But change academic term works, why would it if he was rejected?
Has anyone considered that maybe it’s gone for everyone and the updated portal for accepted students will include a new link that gives an option to withdrawl? There are probably a lot of IT updates to be made between now and Wednesday.
Our portal says:
If you wish to decline (cancel) your admission offer, you may submit the application cancel form within your Purdue
@Momofmanytoo where does it say this?
When you log in, on the top is an orange bar that has a link to “accept your offer.” If you click on that it will take you to another page. On the right are 3 greenish boxes that give deadlines for when you need to accept offers based on which term. Under that it says,
“Declining an Admission Offer
If you wish to decline (cancel) your admission offer, you may submit the application cancel form within your Purdue application portal.”
I agree with the theory that the “cancel application” button has been removed as Purdue has made their decision, so it’s too late to withdraw an application. Hopefully they’re in the process of adding a button to “decline offer” to the portals of kids who were accepted. Can’t wait for Jan.15th!!! Good luck to everyone!
Really do not see how those stats are a problem for Purdue Engineering. provided math and science grades are OK. My son also deferred at Michigan, accepted at Wisconsin. Michigan Engineering SAT range last year was 1460 to 1560, same as Penn’s. Purdue average Engineering SAT last year was 1,420, the 34 ACT should be good.
DD has no link to withdraw app (not sure if it was there before honestly) --however–has a new link (as of yesterday) on the portal showing “change academic term”- I can’t imagine that would show up if it is a hard reject. Hoping that is not the case -
Mine , too. What does she have at current term? Mine has fall 2020 ( 202110), can they be deffered to 2021?
Does everybody that applied ea have the button of “you have met the early application deadline”?I applied ea but I don’t have it. I think it’s because one of my documents was submitted in December.
@antoniamonedero yes we have this line - you have met EA application deadline.
same thing shows on DD portal!- however if you look at the options given to change it to- Spring 2020 is one of the options. Can’t imagine why that is. I guess we can keep assuming until we actually hear on Wednesday! Fingers crossed!
Wouldn’t worry. Last year people who noted their cancel app link was missing still got accepted. I’m guessing Admissions don’t want people to cancel applications as they are preparing final offers.
My son’s portal doesn’t show the cancel link either, and he’s a very strong applicant admitted EA to Caltech and MIT.
Of course, admissions can be very unpredictable, but hopefully this data point helps.
Can someone please chance me for Purdue? I applied EA and not sure of the strength of my application.

Despite this not being a chance me thread, we will let you know in ~ 48 hours.
@LyricalLeader you sure have the chance to get in but we are going to results a couple of days from now anyway.
Jan-15 after 5 PM to be precise. so just hang on and good luck.
For another data point for anyone who is tracking portal information for this year or future years, my son should be considered a strong candidate for Purdue but as others have mentioned admissions at any school can be unpredictable. He was admitted early to UT Engineering last month with very strong ACT, Subject Tests, and one of the top in his class although his school does not rank. He has shown demonstrated interest in the Purdue program and while we live in Texas, we have a lot of extended family in West Lafayette. His “cancel application” link disappeared last week and a link is showing that says “change academic term” is on his portal but not sure when that link might have appeared. Hoping for the best for everyone.
What time do decisions come out?
It’s usually a few hours after school. Maybe around 6pm EST on Wednesday?
5 PM.
