My daughter was waitlisted and it says if they join the waitlist, they might not find out until June 30! Thatās crazy. Iām glad she has other options.

Son waitlisted as well but feeling proud of him. At least thereās still hope. Wondering about the WL chance this year as well. Cross my fingers!

Your daughter is making a mature choice. On paper- some places seem perfect. In person - your gut feelings do matter. Whatever the reason - Iām glad she was able to process the disappointment and move on with changing plans. Many young people might not be able to change course. But this says a lot about your kidās ability to choose their own destiny - even if it means pivoting/changing up plans. Congratulations & best of luck with the future. It will be good!

Same here !!! Daughter could not fathom / digest her refusal from Purdue. Gladly moving on to GATech engineering. I wish everyone good luck in Purdue and wish them well in their careers. Unfortunately, for us, it had to end with mixed feelings.

The college my daughter attending offers single bed room option for freshman. So she selected most single bedrooms and a couple of doubles in the application and we will see if we get the luck.
Iām planning ahead for next year and trying to get a handle on potential merit for in-state FYE. Can anyone please share?
Merit is very very limited at Purdue and highly competitive. Only 15% of applicants are offered merit. Their focus has been on maintaining the tuition freeze.
Thank you. Iād seen that stat, but couldnāt figure out if there is a difference in percent receiving merit between in-state vs. out-of-state.
When my daughter was a student (class of '23) she knew more instate applicants who had merit awards than out of state, but they were for lower amounts. The students were all very, very high stats.

Thanks, she just knew it wasnāt the place for her. Purdue did not sell her on the fact that the two majors she will pursue had any sort of close community, which was important to her since she is pretty introverted.
She felt pretty bad about letting her friend down, but when she notified her about her change in plans her friend was so encouraging and happy she made her choice that was right for her. This helped her feel less stressed about the decision.
My waitlisted sonās portal changed from decision or waitlist (I canāt remember which) to complete today and the decision letters are no longer available. Do you think this is a glitch?
