Putting definitions in my own words - just downright silly?

<p>For AP psych summer work I have to make definitions of ~60 terms in my own words. Is this silly? The definitions are what they are - psychology is the study of behavior and mental processes. Now I have to change them to make them my own words.</p>

<p>That method has always helped me. I’m a very word-based thinker, so if I can study a definition and then re-write and add some sort of connection to my life it helps a lot.</p>
