Questbridge College Prep Scholarship 2015 Applicant Thread

Does anybody know what percent of students who recieve the College Prep Scholarship receive the College Match Scolarship?

^^^^^ Dying to hear this answer.

^^^ or not even the Match, but just even a finalist. I’m curious

The website says the “majority” of College Prep Scholars become Finalists, so I would imagine the odds are really solid. Matched is another story, I doubt CPS has very much bearing on it.

Now that I think about it, I find it hilarious that they said they would post our results in late April…they literally waited until the last day to tell us our decision! It’s funny, in a good way!!! :))

Admitted by both QB and ISSYP today! Can’t be happier!

So I did a little research and in 2014, 2704 college prep scholars were chosen from 7565 applicants. So about a 35% acceptance rate. And in the 2014 National Match, 4180 finalists were chosen out of the 11654 applicants which is about 36% acceptance rate. Furthermore, of those 4180 finalists 2000 of them got accepted to one of the partner colleges either through national match or regular decision about 41%.

It seems like becoming a finalist is just as competitive as becoming a CPS, which is such encouraging news to hear!!

@anitomy @Iamquiteloud ^^

Couldn’t find any information on how many of those applicants/acceptees were actually CPS though unfortunately.

This is good information! Lets all work hard for next year! :)>-
You ALL are amazing people no matter the result given to you today, keep on working hard and nothing is impossible!

@RunsForCookies I have the same dilemma! Contemplating whether I should email and ask for coaching. Maybe our essays were strong already?

Accepted!

As a College Prep Scholar, we are pleased to award you:

• An invitation to a QuestBridge National College Admissions Conference
• Free, on-demand test prep from Kaplan
• A nomination for expense-paid college visits to QuestBridge partner colleges

Kinda bummed that I didn’t get that free essay coaching, but maybe it’s because the essay I wrote was strong?

So excited!!!

Student government elections, SAT, and Questbridge results all in one week, glad to have started crossing things off my list this week feeling happy.

@ny2020 How are you feeling about the SAT?

@mzr1998 Pretty solid, I’m hoping to break 2100-mid 2100’s, my range scores are all around there so hoping I can pull it off on saturday.

Good luck with the SAT on Saturday, @ny2020, and @mzr1998. I’m hoping to get more than 2200.

Thank you @DominicBayer , I am certain that you will!

@ny2020 That’s impressive! I hope you do! How did you score on the PSAT?

@mzr1998 208, most of my scaled scores are like 680-740 so if I do just about average/right in the middle I’ll be happy!

who got essay coaching?

No essay coaching but I got “Individualized college guidance from a trained QuestBridge counselor” which I haven’t seen on anyone else’s yet?
