Questbridge Scholarship - 2008

google 2008, i’m applying to Vassar
They want the supplement to be mailed to them with Questbridge Finalist written on the top of each page…

I just realized that I didn’t follow this direction even though I knew about it…I just wrote QB Finalist on the envelope…I hope it doesn’t really matter =[

Is anyone applying to Emory? Do we submit the supplement online or do we have to send it via mail?? I’m starting to worry since they didn’t download my application even though I’ve submitted like a week ago…

Harvardprincess, for Emory, I ranked it and what I did was i just send the supplement in the mail.

For Pomona, they make it sound like the supplemental essay is only for people who wrote one essay, but I know how “optional” isn’t always optional for colleges.

Through the RD process, is it necessary to write the optional supplemental essay?

Also, I used one of my QB essays as my common app essay. Is that a problem?

Ahhhh. I’m so scared about Stanford because we hear about our applications in late January. I really just want to send some additional materials in, but I’m not sure if they’d appreciate that.

harvardprincess, I just put Questbridge :frowning: oh well

and some guy on facebook (QB group) got into stanford already. waht’s up with that

What !! for RD? someone already got in??
I’m starting to doubt everything…I’m getting really anxious now days…=[
But I have to be optimistic becuz positive thinking = positive results !!

was the guy from QB Match? or Reg decision? Maybe he’s an athlete. No clue =|

wait really? let me go check up on that…grrrrrrr

NO the guys a Stanford Match.
But have people who ranked Stanford send anything in since QB early round?

I was also wondering since I asked QB to send stuff to Amherst and Pomona, how do i know they’ve received it. I send an email to Amherst and Pomona late would that cause them not to consider me. But i’ve got their supplement and common app done and submitted just incase they say no for QB. So how do i make sure they did receive my QB app and how do i tell them that i want to use QB instead of CA?

you can call them and ask, but you can always just submit the common app+supplement instead. your application fee will still be waived and you can still identify yourself as a QB student.

just a suggestion…seeing the deadline is coming up and you might have enough time to call and get a reply.

Yea many people that did QB were applying to other colleges early for the “just in case”. I guess people didn’t understand the policy about no early admissions because on facebook I saw one person got into Dartmouth ED and Georgetown EA and there were many others.

FarrCt, Amherst admission’s office is closed till January 11th, so don’t worry about not getting a response right away from them.

What if I already submited the common app + supplement to Amherst and Pomona and I didn’t put that I was a QB finalist (nowhere on the app to put it). So do I just let the Amherst people know via email or phone after jan. 11.

grtskt89, wouldn’t doing ED or EA disqualify you from the match?..cause otherwise I would have done Caltech and MIT

and yea FarrCT, if you already did it, I would just call after Jan 11 and explain your situation

Can we send in resumes to Stanford/Princeton?

Will Qb still help for Pomona ED II?

It should disqualify you but many (looking on FB group) did it and most of them didn’t get matched through QB. And based on the reaction I got here when I called someone out on it I don’t think anyone really cares.

collegehopeful78 Yes, QB will help.

ah man I should have been bold and done other EAs :(

IMHO, those who don’t play by the rules will eventually get caught, so not doing other ED’s was a smart decision by all. If you were caught, they could void ALL applications to all the other partner schools. Those who did otherwise risk being caught after the fact, possibly having to take a gap year.

I have a question:

I am not a QB finalist but I received a letter from Pomona a week ago telling me to fill out the “Admissions Program Selection” form for QB applicants (blue) along with $65, official test scores, etc. Do I still have to fill out everything else? Supplement, Common App, Pomona’s other forms?
When are their offices open! I cannot find the info anywhere on their website… =(
