Hi! I’m a sophmore in high school, and I am currently in great shape academically (4.0, APs, etc), but I need to buff up my ECs a little. Currently, I am member of the Make-a-Wish club (non leadership position), I volunteer every other month at a church to make breakfast for the food-insecure, and I also manage, play for, and coach a semi-competitive basketball team. The basketball team should count as leadership for Honors Society and other things, right? I definitely do a lot for the team (year-round I collect money, sign us up for leagues, order jerseys, run social media, manage players, make team posters), but it seems that it may be a little hard to explain, and I don’t know who I could reference to prove my involvement in the team. It is definitely the EC I am most passionate for, and I feel it should, in theory, look good on applications and stuff, but its a little hard to explain. Any thoughts on how this looks and how I should display it on applications and such? I already have a flashy title for myself: Founder, President, CEO, Head Coach, Head of PR, Starting PF.

I’m not understanding how the basketball team should count as leadership for Honors Society.
I manage the team. I collect the players’ money, sign us up for leagues, and coach the team. It’s leadership for sure, but I don’t know how I should present it.
