So my case is that I did horrid in sophomore year and very good freshmen year, the question is, do privates such as NYU take the freshmen GPA into account in applications. Thanks in advance!
Most private schools do take into account freshman year grades, but it varies school to school on how much they are weighted in admissions. Also, your downward trend in sophomore year will hurt you more than your freshman grades will help you.
Yea, your right in that aspect that I rather have a better sophomore than freshmen but all these varsity sports took so much time away that im quitting them after my 2 year requirement to focus on grades.
Oh well, better late than never, rather show them i can get out of slumps too while I am at it. But thanks anyhow. 
Private schools can be very different from one another, and there’s no reason to expect that any two private schools would have the same policy on anything. As far as this particular question, most colleges consider freshman-year grades.
