Question about restraining orders (rape)

TC, re post #57:

You’re reading something into my post that isn’t there. I don’t doubt the OP’s story. I am just aware that you do. I don’t think it’s a friend’s role to cross-examine someone who says she was raped and I think it was inappropriate for you to suggest that he do so. Perhaps it would have been clearer if I had written “If you are wrong and the young woman was raped, it could be devastating to her psychologically for a friend to suggest that she is lying.”

Additionally, I don’t think it was appropriate for you to express the opinion that the OP and the “friend” were one and the same. If a young woman were raped and chose to come here and say that it’s a “friend” who was raped and asked advice about what the “friend” should do, I don’t see the point of “outing” her.

I would suggest that YOU read Alice Sebold’s “Lucky,” which teriwtt recommended to the OP. It is about the vicious rape of Ms. Sebold when she was in college and the aftermath of that event.

Shes going to report the incident to the Metro Police so atleast there will be a record of it. Thanks for the advice everyone.

I’m so glad she is going to report it!

Please assure her that Biblically she is still pure! It is his sin, and she bears no blame and I think anyone worth worrying about would agree. I have several dear friends who were abused or raped when they were younger who have been happily married to fellow Christians for many years. Her future husband may be angry at the guy and want to clean his clock, but he sure isn’t going to blame her for it!

I’m so sorry she is dealing with this: {{{{hugs}}}} to her from Huguenot Mom.

To AdviceNeeded, regarding your Post #58: Thank you for your point-by-point clarification. In your Post #30, you inquired about college campus crime reporting procedure. You will find the answer to your inquiry on Page 9 (pdf format Page 11) of the college campus police department’s official document entitled, “Security at College Name 2007/2008.” The campus police department’s website is a wealth of information. The metro police department’s website will be of use to you, as well.

To jonri, regarding your Post #61: I post to CC as I choose. I am mindful of and adhere to CC posting rules; however, other CC members’ “rules” of personal propriety do not concern me.
