Question for Dean J

I have a couple questions for you concerning subject tests.

My first is if only the highest combined score for the SAT or the highest composite score for the ACT are used to judge whether the candidate is deemed worthy for admission. That being said if one happens to have a better ACT than SAT or vice versa, the lower tests scores will not hurt his or her chances at being admitted. If I am mistaken clearing this up would be very nice of you.

My second question is if lower test scores on one of the tests hurts in the admissions process, then would that individual have to send the recommended two SAT Subject Tests? Thank you very much for your time in answering these questions.

I’m not quite sure of the question here. Like most schools, we will look at your best scores.

Regardless of your performance on the SAT I or ACT, the SAT II is strong recommended.

deanj, when is the deadline for submitting sat scores if you plan on applying early decision?
Also, if i took the sat 1 and am satisfied with my score, yet i would still like to take the act, do i have to take the sat with the writing, or can the act take the place of my subject tests?

Mo, I don’t understand your question. Information about testing is all over the website and application.

Obviously, something is being lost when you’re writing this out. Call the admission office and speak with the Dead of the Day.
