How competitive is the baseball team @ UB, is someone able to walk-on “easily”?
How are the Physics, Chemistry and Bio programs @ UB?

Thank you in advance!

Your numbers are in range, your courses look good. Your Regents show an upward trend. They generally aren’t going to pay attention to Regents unless you are borderline or there are anomalies, so you’re fine.

Be wary of rankings, and I don’t think USNWR does undergrad rankings for Bio/Chem/Physics, but for grad school (which is at least some indication), for UB:

  • Chemistry is ranked 76 of about 250 (tied with RPI and U of Illinois)
  • Bio is 115 of about 300 (tied with BC)
  • Physics is 85 out of 200

UB baseball is D1, and plays in the MAC. It’s not SEC, Pac12, etc., but it is D1. Typically, a player or two gets drafted each year, and Steve Geltz of UB is currently making a name for himself (http://www.draysbay.com/2015/6/23/8833071/steve-geltz-first-perfect-game-tampa-bay-rays-history). D1 sports require a heck of a commitment, so make sure you’d be ready for that. So, it depends on the who the “someone” is, but “easy” probably doesn’t describe the walk-on chances.

@JustListening Thank you so much

Hey if this makes you feel any better these are my Math and science Regents Scores
Integrated Algebra - 83
Bio - 90
Geometry - 81
Chem - 84
Alg2/Trig - 84
Physics 84

Yes you should get into UB. By the way, I know the baseball coach-he’s a great guy. You’ll enjoy working with him if you get on the team. I don’t know anything about how competitive it is to get on the team though.
