Questions on the human brain... (amygdala/auditory cortex)

Hey guys,

So for a research project, I was planning on doing an imaging of activation in the amydala and the primary auditory cortex. Well, the contact that I had bailed on me and my teachers arent trying to get any funding for the necessary money so… is there any other way that I could see if there was activation in these places?

For example, do either of these structures secrete hormones into the bloodstream or saliva that I could measure out in a lab? If anyone knows please help…

I’m by no means an expert but I don’t think the amygdala is responsible for any hormone secretion.

I do know that in an experiment done with monkeys, they planted electrodes to stimulate the amygdala and these monkeys were pretty ferocious.
