quick answer please

i know this doesn’t exactly belong here, but more ppl seem to post here and be here and id like a quick answer haha.

sooooooooooooo this whole score choice thing is confusing as hell. im sure this has been asked ONE million times. but searching for exactly what i want was hard. sooooo an answer woudl be awesome. anyways…

when i went to send ONE sat out of TWO for a certain college, it went: “your school does not reccomend this. are you sure u dont want to follow guidelines” or something. am i allowed to NOT follow it and to USE score choice even if the schoool wants ALL?!?!?!

Sorry, I know this is annoying.

THANKS!!!

Do what your college wants you to do.

Many colleges will superscore on their own anyway. This whole score choice thing was just a redundant move to entice people to take more tests and increase CB’s revenue.

Let’s say you don’t follow what your college wants and send one sat instead of two…how would they know

I think it’s more of a risk. Sometimes, usually spontaneously, colleges will check. You probably would be able to get away with it, but are you willing to take that risk? Personally, I would just provide the college with what it wants.

I don’t even understand how they can check. Then, what is the point of score choice if colleges can demand you send everything? This is pretty annoying…

They know.

If you use score choice and don’t send them everything, at the bottom of the report (there’s something missing or something added…I forget).

But the point is, send them everything if they want it.

CollegeBoard isn’t the dictator of the world. Score choice is their policy. Colleges are free to ignore it if they wish.

Okay, I sent both. Because I’d rather send a slightly worse SAT than a message of deception. But for SAT IIs, it seemed I could pick and choose. so yay. I still say collegeboard sucks. $85 for each ap test? canceling scores is hard as hell. and scorechoice is a myth. but whatever. THANKS for your help even though I was unnecessarily stressed and annoying.
