<p>What exactly is it and just how amazing do your achievments have to be to qualify? Do you have to apply seperately for it, or is it automatic through the regular app?</p>
<p>You don’t apply for it. My sense of it is that most who are chosen have already done research. I suspect, though I don’t know this for a fact, that at least some of them are also already known to Columbia professors through the science for high school students program that the university runs. Maybe someone else knows whether that it true.</p>
<p>Anyway, top stats and a proposed science major are not enough, though they may get you awarded other scholar designations at admissions. Rabi scholars can also get chosen at the end of freshman year.</p>
