New Year’s Resolution: Graduate college before this thread reaches 9001. Do you guys think I can do it?

True but rap have the most. It’s nice like you’re going to hear bad words often in R+B, Country, and pop that much.

“bad words” =/= bad lyrics

Many of my favorite rap songs have swearing and what not and that does not depreciate the quality of the music one bit.

It does for me when there is a bad words in every lines; I’m ok with it if is for like two each stanza but there is such thing known as excessive.

happy new year all! can’t believe it’s 2013 already :)

rap does include more bad lyrics than any other genre. I have some rap I like, although its usually in other languages, but the actual meaning and lyrics are pretty good. but most of it is cursing people out and being bitter and objectifying women :/

The idea that certain words are “profane” is an ancient social construct. Can’t believe listening to curse words still rustles people’s jimmies at this age. Open your third eyes, people.

Real talk, son. Take Lil Wayne’s “No Worries”. In a verse he is conversing with a young woman who feel insecure about her grooming, but Lil Wayne boosts this woman’s confidence by telling her to have “no worries”. This shows women that men will take them as they are, more specifically rich men (who women like).

My thoughts on cursing in songs are much the same as my thoughts on sex scenes in movies. They occasionally serve some actual function, but they usually are just a waste of time. They don’t offend me, but they do annoy me.
