Rain boots.

D needs rain boots for walking to campus but also for work. ( recycling on campus- & she has boots for when it is dry)
The kind of boots she is looking at don’t seem like they would hold up.(kamik Olivia, tretorn Kelly)
I love my muck boots, but those are a bit too utilitarian for even her, I think.
They have great arch support with an insole though and they come in steel toe.
I think I will remind her of that.
She also wants plain, not patent or print.
So these are out.

D2 likes her Hunter rain boots.

Target has a nice selection, not too expensive.

Bogs are nice.

Reviews made it sound like Hunter might not hold up, which one does your D have, oldfort?
So many of them seem to run narrow or they have some sort of fuzzy lining ( shes average, with a high arch, but we always add superfeet)
They do sell the wellington at REI, though, are they true to size?

crocks make some fun boots.

I think she has the original tall and they are green. She has had them for 2 years. She goes to a school with a lot of rain and snow, the campus is also huge, so they are holding up so far. I was surprised that she wears them in the snow. I didn’t pay full price, I think I got them when they were on sale either on Gilt or Rue La La.

Everyone had the hunter boots when I was at umich-- all the girls wear rainboots there. I’ve always coveted those boots. Mine are the ones from target, and they are going on five years old now and holding up. The liner on the inside bottom just lifted out, but I wear them with a fleece liner these days anyway so I just shove it back in and I don’t feel it lifting through the fleece. 5 years isn’t bad for $20.

emeraldkity–I saw Hunter rain boots at our Costco a month or two ago. I noticed girls wearing them starting three years ago and I wondered if they had fallen out of favor, but based on the crowds at Costco, they are still being worn.

Look at Dover saddlery.[Joules Welliebob | Dover Saddlery](http://www.doversaddlery.com/joules-wellibob/p/X1-38092/?ids=zl3wg2rdpruzljzmzasgbn55)

She also has plain black Hunter boots. If your D foot is small enough you can save money by getting childrens sized boots

Sperry also makes some nice rainboots with arch support. Older D found hers at Marshalls

Check out Le Chameau or Aigle rain boots. You will only purchase one pair in a life time.

http://www.aigleboots.com

D and I both have these:
[Sperry Top-Sider Women’s Pelican Too Rain Boot](Sites-sperry_us-Site)

She wore hers through her senior year in college and took them to grad school with her- bought me a pair before she left! They have great arch support in them and look elegant! Got ours right from Sperry because she worked for them, but Zappos and Amazon have a good selection also. They also come in various colors, materials and pattern, depending upon where you look.

LL Bean makes good rain boots, not overly expensive. Mine are very comfy.

I have hunter boots that I got on sale. The boots are great and have hold up well. They are much better quality then the target ones I had that got a whole in them. These boots are also good for the winter since you can put the fleece socks in them so your feet stay warmer.

I recommend Hunter boots also. They look nice and hold up extremely well. Both D’s have had them for years. I recommend the black, but NOT the shiny black. They come in many fun colors, but these are classic and will take her through the years.

I decided on the hunter also

We actually are still looking after talking to some who have bought the hunter boots.
We have high arches & it seems difficult to find a rain boot with enough support.

EK, I recommend Superfeet inserts. They are not very cheap, but so worth it. I use the wool covered ones in my rain boots:

I went through three pairs of the Hunter-style rain boot and they kept splitting and leaking. I do have wide feet. I finally went and bought Bean Boots from the LL Bean outlet, and I love them. They are far more comfortable and have better arch support.

DSW has many styles of women’s rain boots. Some of them list buyer reviews.
