The Hong Kong apartment fire was tragic. It’s disturbing to learn that there were ignored complaints over the flammability of the construction refurb materials - netting (over scaffolding) and foam (window covers)

Interesting topic, great interactive graphics!
LOL. And this!
The trash pandas are rising up like Planet of the Apes.
It has been raining raccoons lately…
As a 77-year-old woman with a very complicated past, I loved reading this post from a substack I love,
Quick sand in Tarzan and similar shows used to scare me when I was a kid.
<<One variant, called IRF4, is “strongly linked to earlier graying.">>
I guess I have that variant! I was almost totally gray by the time I was 30. I’m still dying my hair. I know I have to stop before long, but I’m dreading it.
Why do you have to stop? I’ll probably dye my hair until I die (like my mom, too).
I never dyed my hair and several of my sibs do. Different strokes. It’s all fine and adds variety. My H started going grey at 20 and now at 80+ is fully white. I always look younger than him, as I am. It’s fine.
I guess that’s a possibility! Even if it’s obvious I’m coloring it, that might be better than going gray.
Just keep going lighter as you get older. I’m now doing the lightest brown I can find. I miss having dark hair but it looks more natural lighter. I have no intention of going gray anytime soon
though I may eventually I suppose. Then again I might not.
Be cognizant of color and skin tone as you age. It’s fine to color your hair, but if you’re going to use color, make sure it’s flattering. I saw Brooke Shields on tv this week, and I noticed that her dark hair color is much less flattering on her now than it used to be. She still looks good, but I couldn’t help but think that it might be time for her to go lighter. Whatever a woman likes is cool … but hey, why not switch it up if it might brighten up your face. (P.S. My hair is gray, so I’ve got no skin in this game. I’m allergic to dye, so the color I have has to be the color I have!)
I hadn’t thought of that. My hair is dark brown naturally. I will ask my hairstylist what she thinks.
I agree people should generally color their hair lighter as they age. My problem is I color my hair light brown but it looks much darker than I want it to be. I need to color it every 4 weeks, and it just builds up to be darker. My roots are lighter. At some point soon I will likely pay to have it colored lighter, and then color it myself a couple of times, and then pay again.
