The online forums in my country say that I will most likely be rejected for most of the colleges I listed :frowning: Just want to hear a different opinion from you guys. Hope you can help!
Thanks!

i think except for Caltech, MIT and Stanford, which are a bit high (doesn’t mean you don’t have any chance), the rest should be quite ok for you :)

SAT Reasoning scores a bit too low for the top schools.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) - Reject.

California Institute of Technology (Caltech) - Reject.

Georgia Institute of Technology - Match

Stanford University - Most likely reject.

University of California, Berkeley - Reach

Purdue University - West Lafayette - Safety/Match

University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign - Match

Yeah, you’re SAT 1 scores are low.
I also think you could take some AP exams to show that you have a deeper understanding on the subjects of science.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) - Reach

California Institute of Technology (Caltech) - Reach

Georgia Institute of Technology - Slighty Reach, Match

Stanford University - Reach

University of California, Berkeley - Reach

Purdue University - West Lafayette - Match

University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign - Match

this is my opinion. anyone is welcomed to differ.

Your ACT score is very good though even if it an estimate

and your satii are great despite sat scores

gpa and rigor of classes are also very good :)

good ec’s

i think that you have a chance at mit, caltech, and stanford

and the rest are match/safety

best of luck!

your ECs are strong but for your scores it will be impossible for you to get access to either caltech or MIT. at least 2200 for MIT and 2300 for Caltech. you may know that many mainland China students are aimed at caltech and MIT and they get terribly high scores.(but most of them have no very strong ECs)

MIT doesn’t require SAT 1 from internationals; you can apply with a TOEFL score and 2 subject tests (math and science) The entrance is still very competitive though, as they have a quota of ~100 international students per incoming class.

You most definitely have to bring you’re SAT 1 score up if you’re thinking of MIT, Caltech or Stanford and even with a good SAT score, its still a crap shot. On the other hand you gonna be accepted the other schools mentioned (for sure).
