The only teacher I recognize is Watson. You’re actually in my micro lecture next semester. He’s good. I had him for macro last year. He grades on a curve and the tests are hard, but he’s probably the best teacher for the intro-level econ classes.

@motion1234 im taking economics so proficiency in calculus or something is mandatory

@ toms1266 watson is rated higher than manove in everything in ratemyprofessors but i dont know the recent reviews say that watson has changed and now is giving short answer tests instead of multiple choice and the class has become really hard.

That’s true. The tests in macro were short answer and pretty hard, but I think just about all the econ teachers are doing it that way now. But also remember that the class is graded on a curve. You don’t necessarily have to get everything right to get an A.

Manove is probably a fine professor too. These are big lecture classes and it’s not hard to beat the curve.

Versii: Mine is Microeconomics by Hubbard and O’Brien. Some sections have a different book, so check your B&N list first because I don’t know what Manove uses for his class…

I took EC102 with Watson and liked it a lot. He’s good. I think the Micro tests are still multiple choice too, unlike how the Macro are now short answer. Either way, the curves were super fair. He dropped the lower of the two midterm grades. Problem sets were hit/miss, but he also dropped the two lowest grades from those too. Anyways, I’m going backwards and taking the same Micro lec as you this semester with him.

Panth is good. Look for a writing course which is on a subject that interests you. I made the mistake in WR150 to favour timing. ALWAYS FAVOUR TEACHER
