RD Acceptance Notification?

uhh, urban outfitters is my favorite store!!!
i like it because it’s one of the only places taht i can find skinny/straight leg jeans that are cheap (sorta) and look good. haha
i like their vests too.
yeah i forgot to add that. i have only been to that one once.

It’s okay I’m expecting it as well after this Davis rejection thing…

You know guys, in 10 years we will all have realized this is admissions game was really marketing hype put out by the colleges so they can keep our parents money rolling in. The thought of scarcity drive prices up.

So I just checked the portal and it said I have been waitlisted… Does anyone know what exactly that means!!! ugh

i was waitlisted too…it means if people who were accepted choose not to go to cal poly slo, those openings will be filled by waitlisted people.

lakeside, that’s so true. But 10 years from now, the LAST thing on our minds will be a rejection letter from Cal Poly  Hahaha, at least I hope so!

i got into this school but its not that great of a school thus im going to USC

thanks for sharing!

So by now, if it still says “no determination has been made” does that mean we’re rejected?

i sure hope not! i have pretty decent stats applied for BA and alt is political science soo … but a lot of people from my school with great stats havent heard yet so i dont think the wait is over.

ohhh right. how do they determine which waitlisted people will be offered admission if there are any openings? is it just by the rigor of the applicant or what?

gosh this really sucks :(

I don’t understand waitlisting when the college overbooks to begin with. Using 2007 stats, there were 30,000 applications. 13,500 or 44% were offered admission. of that 13,500, 4,300 or 32% actually enrolled. So if less than 4300 enroll, they go to the wait list? This is a crap shoot. Looks like you risk not going to college if you wait around and are not accommodated. It also dosent say much about applicants wanting to go there. Two thirds of accepted applicants go somewhere else!

I want to know this too. Its the morning of March 14, and still no determination, and I’m an engineering major. Is all that talk about March 15 correct, that basically your screwed after that date?

I’m freaking out over here…

It is interesting to note that in previous years catalogs the official word was that notifications would go out by March 15. In the current 2007-2009 catalog that has changed to April 1. One commenter on this site reportedly called admissions and was told that acceptances would continue thru next week which was problematic for some applicants as housing opens today and you can’t apply if you haven’t been offered admission.

It is also problematic for students who are still waiting on admissions decisions from all the schools they applied to. Why don’t they do housing like every other school on May 1st with the SIR deadline? If they are going to open it up so early they should allow students not yet enrolled to submit a non-refundable housing deposit that they forfit should they decide not to enroll at CPSLO.

I too am a member of the “no determination has been made at this time” club. So here it is March 15, and still no word…not even the courtesty of a rejection. Yet they open up housing on Friday, before all candidates are notified. I have been admitted to UC Davis and UC Santa Cruz, as well as offered a major scholarship to Arizona State. At this point, I would choose Davis hands down over Cal Poly SLO so I guess I don’t care, but I do think it’s terrible they have not notified definitely those who they have rejected. It will be amazing to me if I get into UCSD and UCSB (still waiting for those decisions) as well as Davis and still get rejected at SLO. I wonder what the deal is with that? It just goes to show you that there is little rhyme or reason to any of this. It’s all a crap shoot.

hey im new here and i totlly just spent like a half an hour reading through this 23 page post hehe.

by the way im part of the club who hasnt been accepted or rejected.
but im not expecting to get in now i guess.

my major is Nutriton (which i guess no one is doing)
and according to last year I am a little above the average for that mjor.

are we aloud to call the school and ask if we got in??

You know what, Admissions has screwed you guys over so badly this year that I say call them whenever you want and ask them whatever you want. And then call back and, without saying your name, ask them really really difficult questions that make their brains hurt.

And by the way, you’re not the only one who’s doing nutrition! Soccerchick knows someone who is there now as a nutrition major so she could probably answer any questions you have related to it! Also, the fact that it isn’t as popular as some of the other majors at CP means that you have a much greater chance at getting in! Hang in there! :)

yes, actually my boyfriend is there as a nutrition major! he’s in his 3rd year! his stats were 3.4 GPA and 1350 SAT

and i know a girl who applied this year from my school… but i’m not sure exactly what her stats were though…

and alicia is right, it’s not a very impacted major… so there’s still hope!
