RD chances!

in-state senior:

SAT: 2030 V: 690 M: 640 (combined 1330) W: 700, essay 12
SAT 2s: Lit- 740 U.S. Hist-730; AP for US hist: 5

Courseload: will graduate with 5 AP classes. AP US history and govt, AP Lit, AP Calc AB, AP Bio. Have also taken as many honors classes as possible.

UW GPA: 3.97 W GPA: 4.3–> have attended three different high schools, so counselor will write about this. All high schools have been academically rigorous. Last year’s especially!

i have lots of activities and clubs that i’ve staid committed to despite my moves. Im not worried about leadership, personality, hardships endured, and my essays.

interested in majoring in literature, film studies, and asian studies

Just kinda worried about the technical stuff–the numbers. Should i retake the SAT 1??? I KNOW i can break 700 for verbal if i studied. is it really worth taking though? i mean, doesn’t my lit sat reflect this? hmmm.

Also, i’m asian. I know this might hurt my chances…but at the same time, i plan to stay as far away as possible from anything math/sci related. Does this then balance everything out? lol. just wondering.

Recs: counselor from 11th grade will be stellar (formed relationship). Teacher recs…not so sure. How big of a factor are these?

Thats all i can think up of. Thanks in advance.

would taking the SAT again be the best use of your time? You should decide that. The 1330 is good enough for in state. It definitely won’t keep you out. I’m pretty sure they’ll read the teacher recs… dunno how much weight they’ll carry.

I’d say you have a pretty good chance.
