RD roster

I was accepted ED 1, and I just wanted to create an RD roster to meet all others applying to GW RD. What has attracted you to GW? I liked the Mt. Vernon Campus(even though I’m considering living in HOVA).

Yo . I got in ED 1 and I have talked to about 30 people who got in ED 1. Everyone seems to be leaning towards Thurston over Hova…and nobody has considered Mt. Vernon Campus…Personally, I am ambivalent about Hova vs. Thurston. Will see what happens…

Applied RD. From Idaho.

I was attracted to the SMPA and living in DC.

I applied RD from CT and was also attracted to SMPA and DC. I want to be a political journalist, so… I also like pretty much everything else about it.

Let’s hear it for SMPA! But did anybody get in directly?

I’ve applied ED II

I am also applying RD [3.2gpa, 670math/680verbal[ (yeah a stretch)

My intended major is political science, so DC is the place to be. I spoke to several people I know who attended GWU themselves, or know somebody who has attended, and everything I heard was positive. I am quite put off, however, by the ridiculous tuition costs.

Assuming I am not accepted ED to Trinity College (CT) I would like to find out how my application fares at GWU, and what financial aid package they would offer me (which would clearly lack merit-based aid given my performance)

I personally think Anarchy you should have gone with GW as your ED over Trinity. For political science GW is IMO much much better then Trinity due to its location, contacts and internship opportunities.

me: RD 1320 SAT, 3.6 uw gpa. from PA

Trinity is more expensive than GW. Just to let you know…

Im applying RD: 1370 SAT, 780 Writing, 700 Lit, 3.55 GPA UW

RD: 1400 sat, 700 us, 700 physics, 730 Math 1C, 680 writing, 100.1 W GPA, RANK 1/159, NY

Siblea: Make sure that you show demonstrated interest. You are a perfect candidate for the GW Syndrome.

Quick question –> My school doesn’t rank us although I’m sure that I’m at least in the top 20%. Can that hurt me?

At first (when I first began looking at colleges (in Sept.)) GWU was my first choice, but as I kept requesting information I never received it (via online form and from visiting college rep) and they took a long time to answer my questions. While poli-sci is certainly best served by being in DC, GWU is far too pricey and trinity guarantees full tuition - my grades are not exactly amazing (though I will have a 3.8UW for the first semester when it ends next week) so I had initially decided not to apply ED anywhere, but when I saw that trinity ED2 was the same as its RD I filed ED real quick to better my chances; anyway, yes I would like to go to GWU but I don’t know how possible it is given my circumstances

RD from FL; SATI 1520; IIs 770/720/710; ACT 34; UWGPA 3.9; WGPA 4.7; No rank

I applied to GW because of the location mostly. I haven’t visited, and I actually don’t know all that much about the school (except that it has a reputation for strong academics, esp polisci, is in a great city, and offers some cool service opportunities), but I think I showed interest with the “Why GWU?” essay.

Good luck to everyone with EDII/RD!

RD for me, I applied because I love the DC area.
Stats are SATI 1440, II 740, 710, 690. wgpa= 3.5

anarchy: i agree that gwu is far pricey, but i’ve heard that the finaid is pretty good? i’m not 100% sure though

I applied ED 1, so I don’t know if I count, but I was attracted to The Elliot Schools wide range of classes, especially the Latin American ones. I had a really good tour and I love DC because there’s so much to do.

My stats:
1270 SAT
Top 2% of High-school class
3.9 GPA

Trinity is $43k total, GWU is $46k - and Trinity will meet 100% of demonstrated need in GRANTS - whatever you dont get from the fed. they give to you - and considering that I am dirt poor and my parents are in debt a quarter mil, I need every dime I can get - and at this point, I need financial security over “lets see what the most expensive college I can attend is”

Applied RD

I was attracted to its location although there’s no sense of campus lol
and strong program in political science… or studies of that nature.
Many good programs (I applied to 3 of their programs total) and many opportunities.
If it weren’t too expensive, I would’ve applied ED

28 ACT
3.8 GPA
Top 10%

fingers crossed for EVERYONE!!
