Yes, it gets kind of tiring. Gerwig was nominated for Lady Bird a few years ago, which was an outstanding movie. Robbie was a nominee for both supporting and lead actress in the past. I don’t think there’s any great conspiracy, or double standard, irony, etc. I already see complaints about the new diversity rules getting them shut out.
I loved the movie - it really revitalized going to the movies, but were they worthy of Oscar nominations? IMO an argument can we made for director, but not leading actress.
