I use realitytv.com to catch up on the NYH. Alex and Simon have a blog. She writes about her job loss.

Someone asked if any men watch this show— yes! H, our daughters and me watch it each week. And this is a man who wouldn’t be caught dead doing ANYthing ‘girly.’ We all get a kick out of Simon, even though there is something sort of icky about him (like the skin-tight red patent leather pants he wore to that benefit-- eeewe…!

What these people do with their money is obviously their business, but it sort of kills me to see someone spend thousands of dollars on clothes or shoes that aren’t going to be worn more than a few times. Wonder if they ever sell them for charity on eBay or anything?

I wonder how much money these people get paid for these reality shows. I know Jon and Kate are well reimbursed, so are the Roloffs, Duggars etc.

I too flipped when I saw Ramona and SImon dancing! I have tivo, so when they showed a clip for the reunion I slowed it down. You can see LuAnn. Bethenny and Jill on one couch Ramona, Kelly and Alex on the opposite. LuAnn loses her cool and calls somebody out from the otherside. I wonder if her divorce was made public by the slip of the tongue from one of them, and I am thinking it was Alex or Simon, because Bethanny has stated Alex knows what she did and I will not discuss it. I went back on the blogs to see when the animosity started towards Alex and it was back in Jan/Feb when the news broke of LuAnn’s husband having an affair, the bad gossip was the Count told her it was over via text (he was in Europe with the mistress)and that was released to the NY Post. This was right after Alex losing her job, and Kelly going to court on assault charges. SO it could be any of those too. RHNYC is better than All My Children, I bet the writers over there are going and viewers think we make this crap up!

I notice tonight that Ally introduced herself as Ally Shapiro, so I guess Bobby is at least hubby #2. I think that means Ramona is the longest married, b/c she said they were married for 18 yrs. Kind of comical if this is her 1st and only marriage she thinks she is the best person to give dating advice…openly admits she is in her 50’s, do the math, that means she was in her mid 30’s when she married him, and 20 yrs ago, that meant you were an old maid. Not many people know Bethenny has already been married and divorced, thus she got married younger than Ramona. I believe Bethenny stated this yr that she is 37.

I am also dying to see why Jill was crying at the reunion episode!

Okay so here are some quips from their blogs about the reunion.

Kelly

Bethenny

Alex
I bet that is Mario, his ego/spotlight need is starting to annoy me more than Simon!

LuAnn

Ramona

Jill did not post anything about the reunion.

I have to admit this is going to be interesting.

I think Bravo should make a series with just the husbands!

Bravo’s website has three clips up already from the reunion. Sparks fly, mostly at Ramona.

Kelly completely denies beating up her boyfriend. Says he made it up.

I loved the way that during tonight’s episode, Ramona pronounced “kudos to everyone” as “ka-dooz to everyone.” And talked about Jill being day-classay. And made clear that she thinks that the “social register” is an actual place she could take Jill to prove that she was being day-classay.

I felt sorry for Luann tonight, in the scenes with her husband, knowing what ended up happening to their marriage. He looked so bored to be with her. (Apparently, from what I’ve read about the reunion, it’s made clear that everyone in the cast knew during the show that it wasn’t quite the fairytale romance that Luann always made it out to be.)

I thought Jill behaved pretty badly tonight, as if the charity event was all about her – this is my night, etc. But she was obviously stressed out, so I’ll give her a pass! And I"m glad that she and Bethenny made up.

I love Jill’s daughter, Ally. I think she’s gorgeous, and very sweet. (I guess she’s Jill’s daughter from a previous marriage, since her last name is Shapiro, not Zarin.)

Simon does manage a hotel. God knows where they get the money they pretend to have! No comment on the red shiny vinyl pants and pointy toed boots.

bethenny has always been one of my favorites, but i thought she was way out of line at jill’s charity event.

can’t stand kelly. don’t even think she’s worth listening to ever. what was her worthless little quote at the end of the night? waking up everyday and feeling so lucky? i would guess so, she can’t articulate a cohesive thought yet has a career as a writer? did anyone else catch her cheesy interview?

jill has grown on me more and more–how hard would it be to live in that world.

simon and alex–just don’t get what is really going on there

and last ramona is starting to grow on me. she is the most vulnerable in so many ways, but she keeps on hanging in there!

I do watch this-totally entertaining, but only watch the reruns, can’t stay up that late!
I thought I read that Simon owned that hotel or maybe someone stated it on the show?

Hotel managers aren’t paid exorbitant salaries, and sometimes as a perk they live with their families in the hotel. They also are expected to spend ALOT of time on the premises which doesn’t seem like their lifestyle at all. One of them must have family $$.

I enjoy the show, but also wonder why some of them agree to go on in the first place. Obviously some promote their businesses, but others like LuAnn and Laurie (RHOC) have a ton of money and nothing to sell. How can the invasion of privacy be worth it?

And Donna L, we also loved Ramona’s use of day-classay and kadooz! I intend to start using them more in day-to-day conversation :)

Probably mentioned earlier here, but their blogs on bravotv.com are actually pretty entertaining. They post them new after each week’s show. In one, Bethenny referred to Simon as disgusting, so am wondering if HE was the one who blabbed the details about LuAnn and that jerk she was married to. He seems generally harmless, but definitely a ‘media whore.’ Did anyone else get the impression he might have a drinking problem (at least in social situations)?

I think Mario is more of the media whore.

I didn’t get that impression as much as that Ramona enjoys her Pinot Grigio.

Yes, talk about invasion of privacy. What about the new series which involves the real lives of teenagers on the Upper East Side? Why would their parents let them get involved in THAT show?

I always thought that Mario was more normal than the other guys, attractive and well spoken, but the horns came out during that tennis match…not pretty. Does Bobby Zarin ever talk, by the way? I guess it would be hard to get a word in edgewise with that wife of his!

There’s an article on the NJ Housewives upcoming series on the front page of the Arts Section of the NY Times.

I think people who do this do it for multiple reasons. My guess for Bethenny was she approached because of the marth Stewart Apprentice (she was the runner-up) and the fact that she is a personal chef for some famous people like Michael J Fox and the Hilfigers. I think she probably agreed too do it because of the bucks that they give. I read somewhere that they make in the 6 fgures for the entire season, which isn’t bad because it is only 4 months long. I believe this season they started filming Fourth of July and if you watched last nights episode, the Nasdaq showed the date and it Halloween, which means they were finished by the first week of Nov.

OMG I have found my peeps!!! I love this show!! Bethenny is ok, I take her with a grain of salt. Love Jill for the most part, I think her and Bethenny have a true frienship and I think Ally and Bobby are both so wonderful and cute. Could do without Jill’s gay husband and the chihuahua though.

I like Luann last season but not this season. She has been a little too much about her title this season, maybe bc of marital issues she is putting on more of a front. I think her kids are very cute and the maid should have a show of her own!

I have never liked Ramona, her obsession with Simon and Alex is just weird and while I liked Mario last season this season I find him obnoxious and kind of a psycho.

Kelly is just damn crazy! Nuff said. Max Max should run for the hills lest he get beat with a sparkly fist.

I go back and forth on Simon and Alex. Simon is funny and campy. His outfit at the tennis match just made my day. And yeah, the kids are a little bratty but so are a lot of kids that are not on TV. Considering I have a 4 year old myself who tends to be a little wild I am not in a position to judge and ofc, it’s not like they can spank the kids with TV cameras around. I like Alex more this year than last. I do think her family is monied, she mentioned once that she grew up spending vacations at her parents home in the Caribbean.

SO what did everybody think of SImons outfit last night? Am I the only one that realized he always wears a matching outfit to Alex? They went to the opera and he had gold bow tie to match her dress. Last night she wore red he wore red and black. I keep thinking about the line from the movie wedding date, where she says we don’t want to be matchy-matchy!

I wish I could remember the line Bethenny said last season to ALex when Simon called about what he should wear.

I think Mario is jealous that Simon is the pseudo HW so he had to get into the game. I love Bobby b/c he is so laid back and gets that this is Jill’s gig…I am sure Zarin fabrics probably has become more profitable from the exposure, so as a businessman he doesn’t want to offend anybody.

My real problem with Ramona, is she is classless. Her comments to Bethanny (jill likes her because she is an underdog) and the signange showed that she is jealous of their relationship and enjoys twisting knives. Telling LuAnn her husband is old. Playing friendly with Kelly and then bad mouthing her. Her sleezy dancing disgusts me, and finally the fact that she brags that she hasn’t gone under the knife, and it is her skin care regiment that has kept her looking this good, but forgetting to say oh yeah I have laser peels and botox. The funniest thing about that is in one episode she acknowledges that this product was just created, thus, she has not used it for eons and she can’t say it is the skin care products that have kept her skin this way! BTW I agree with Bethanny, for business purposes she needs to brand herself. Bethenny is known for her healthy cooking, and her dieting beliefs. Ramona should have used TRU, and not TRUE since her jewelry line is TRU

Red leather pants questions: How did Simon get into them? How did he sit down in the car on the way to the benefit? And how on earth did he get out of them at the end of the night? They looked painted on…

Re: Mario - yes, I do get the impression that he’s trying to insinuate himself much more into the show this season-- sort of like Slade did on the OC version. He seemed OK last year, but now seems like a jerk – talking behind peoples’ backs and attacking Jill over that stupid tennis match. I think he was dying to show off his tennis prowess on tv. Ramona still takes the cake, though – I think she comes off as shrill, insecure and often mean. Her snotty comments to LuAnn about “the Count” being an old man were incredibly rude, esp. with their daughter sitting right there.
I guess I shouldn’t talk though – am doing enough of my OWN trash-talking here!

Yeah, but lspf, you are not so declasse as to put yourself on TV inviting trash talk, KaDuz to you ;)
