Well my favority reality show will be going on hiatus, and I can’t wait to see the after the finale re-cap when they really talk about everything.

I am from NJ so I guess I will be hooked on the NJ wives also. The only one I don’t watch is the Atlanta, b/c I honestly go insane listening to the blond girl who was involved with some guy!

I’m usually embarrassed to admit that RHONYC has become my favorite reality show this season (I’m positively addicted to it!), but since you mentioned it first, I guess it’s OK. Like many people, I like Bethenny; I like Jill most of the time (except when she’s being too obliviously rich and talking about economizing by only buying herself a $16,000 handbag for her birthday); and everyone else drives me nuts to a greater or lesser degree. Especially Kelly, who’s a complete lunatic and/or took way too many drugs when she was younger. Or still does. (BTW, no matter how many times she repeats it, she did not go to Columbia for college. She took courses at the Columbia School for General Studies, which is a different animal entirely, I believe.)

I love the Housewives. Did you hear that the Countess’ husband dumped her? I feel badly for the kids. Kelley drives me nuts - the shows in which she rode in the horse shows were a joke. She went on and on about her athletic ability and how much she rode and she looked like she had never ridden or jumped before.

I watched a few episodes this last weekend for the first time since I had read about the Countess’ marital problems. I have to say there’s not a character that I like, perhaps Alex is the least annoying but I find her husband Simon very irritating. His voice and even his accent (which I normally like) is driving me crazy.

I also watched one episode of the Housewives from NJ and I find them even more irritating.

Bethenny is my favorite. Kelly is a moron, I laugh because I can’t imagine her running a business, except into the ground. Ramona is the one that drives me bonkers. My favorite is she is so proud of this cosmetic line and that she hasn’t had plastic surgery, but then you see her go into a plastic surgeons office for her maintaince (I think last yr she had laser peels do on her face). What a hypocrite, and she complained about SImon all last season, yet now her hubby is getting into it!

I absolutely LOVE the series, I’m embarrassed to say! My husband refuses to watch it, so I tape it and watch it when he’s not around! I’m from NJ too, Bullet, but nothing like THOSE women!! Thanks for clearing up the Kelly education. After watching for awhile I realised that there’s NO way she graduated from Columbia. She seems like a halfwit. I’m reading a book called Style Evolution (heard the author interviewed on XM) and she writes about women dressing over 40. She specifically mentions the Housewives of OC and how NOT to look that way! Can’t help wondering how the recession is affecting these people in that most of them are in businesses that cater to a luxury market. (jewelry, designer wear, fabrics, etc.) Can someone tell me how Alex and Simon live that way on a Concierge and graphic artist’s salary? Where’s the dough- re- me coming from in that scenario?

One part that really galled me was when the “Countess”(puhleez) took car service into (Yikes!!) Brooklyn to the Boys and Girls Club. She sat down, said a few words about self esteem, and left. Then she talked about how she likes to do “good works” and help people? How about forgoing a few designer duds and putting one of those girls through Spence? That would be helpful!

This is also a guilty pleasure for my 14 year old D and me. We love to watch on the weekends when they repeat several of the episodes as it is so entertaining! That woman Kelly can not ride a horse at all. My D is a hunter/jumper rider and she can not believe this woman thinks she can ride. Last season when they went to the Hampton Classic Horseshow the Countess did not even know what classes her daughter rode in!

Bethenny is the one we like best also. Ramona and her tennis playing husband drive me crazy. Jill is also ok some of the time. I have to agree that I don’t know how Alex and Simon afford their lifestyle.

My DD and I also watch it together. DD rides and competes(western), but feels the same about Kelly. Anybody who is a rider knows you don’t enter a show without training on the horse for quite sometime, especially jumping, b/c you are asking to be thrown! Kelly is all show and the biggest ditz, (LuAnn asking her how/when she takes her hair down at the bar, and Kelly took it down thinking it was a real question…I guess she thought LuAnn has short hair and never puts it up!). Last week I went to the www.bravotv.com site and saw they had blogs. People are now warming to Alex and Simon, but I think it is because they now have Kelly to make their faux pas/actions look like nothing. Ramona’s husband also has been on a lot this yr and he is so pompous it makes Simon look like an introvert.

One thing I don’t get about any of these women on the series is that they’re so rude to each other( backbiting, gossiping, etc.) so how can they be “friends”? Maybe they’re more like “frenemies” but if someone spoke that way about me (especially on camera) I wouldn’t want to ever speak to them again, let alone have them over for dinner!

The only ones who apparently have anything to do with each other off camera are Jill and Bethenny, who have actually become friends. Even though they have a big fight tonight, according to the previews.

One of the many ridiculous things about Kelly’s “you’re down here and I’m up here” with respect to Bethenny, given her lack of any real knowledge of horses, is that Bethenny’s father is Bobby Frankel, an extremely successful and well known horse trainer.

dke, do any men watch this show? Even my son, who’ll generally watch anything, and who’s been watching Project Runway with me for years, refuses to watch it, and had a fit when he was home on spring break and I attempted to watch it in his presence.

I would not admit to anyone I know that I watch this…but I cannot wait for Tuesday nights to roll around! I saw the preview to housewives of NJ and it’s so over the top, I do not think I’ll be watching it; in fact I find the NY housewives are the most normal - aside from Kelly who is from another planet. Ramona is my favorite; despite her outspokenness, I don’t think she means any harm. Bethanny is hilarious and Jill is nice but her need to be right or the most important, gets old.

The housewives of NJ remind me of a Mafia family. Perhaps that is the studio’s intent since they chose an Italian , street smart (no college degrees)family to be the main characters.

cbreeze, according to reports the 2 sisters that are married to the two brothers and own the catering business are related to the mob. The wives FIL was found dead buried in cement or some other mafia tradition back in August. His nickname was something like TINY (he weighed 300 lbs) :D.

I know Franklin Lakes and it is not a Sopranoesque town. Personally I think the NJ wives will be a flop. The previews make them seem too abrasive and out of touch. The preview of one wife spending $120,000 in cash for furniture was appaling.

I likethe NYC wives b/c Bethenny beaached about spending 150 for surf lessons and her complaint was LuAnn didn’t pay. I get 150 for surf lessons, I don’t get $120K for furniture, it just seems flamboyant!

I started out watching RH-OC as I grew up there and I knew people like that- might be why I left ;)

I, too, like Bethenny and cannot abide that ditz, Kelly- what a bizarre person, Bethany’s Miss Fabulosity about covers it.

Jill is growing on me as time goes on, she’s pretty funny. The countess was more appealing at first, that Lady Bountiful routine at the girl’s club was sad, she thought her giving them a few minutes of time was making a difference, I don’t see it

Ramona is odd, but probably sincere, just kinda crazy and Alex & Simon are bizarre, yet still more appealing than Kelly!

I read that Alex just got laid off from her job. What does her husband do? Are they social climbers? I am not up to speed with their stories as I just started watching repeat episodes on Sunday.
