Hello! Do any of you guys PERSONALLY know anyone who got rescinded by UCs because of their senior year grades or anything?

Yea, my friend got rescinded from UCSD this year because he failed/dropped two classes. When he called them up and asked about the first one, they said one would be ok, but a second would rescind him. He’s going to Foothill now.

At this point (like a month before school starts) if you haven’t received anything from your school, can’t you assume that you are fine? Wouldn’t they have told you by now?

Did he get an official notice of UCSD rescinding his admittance? Because I am also planning to go to SD in the fall but I got a D in one of my AP classes first semester senior year. And they havent told me anything.

*Did he get an official from UCSD…

*Did he get an official letter from UCSD…

Have they seen the D yet?

I know of a kid from our high school who 2 years ago got rescinded from UCSD for getting a D in math his senior year. They put his acceptance “on hold” and told him they would go ahead and admit him if he retook the class and pulled the grade up. He didn’t do it. He ended up not going to college at all. He’s working somewhere now.

^ HOLY CRAP. that kid at your high school who got the D in math is the same case for another student from my high school who graduated 2 yrs ago too. Except in his case he retook the class at comm. college and went on to UCSD…

Did he retake it during the summer?

They have my transcript but they havent “validated” it yet. What should I do?? School is starting soon too!

ccf,

When were you accepted? Did SD see your 7th semester grades or is your final transcript the only record they have received since your application?
What was your 8th semester grade in the class? If it was higher than a D, I would think you are in a decent position.

How does the above relate to the written admission policy?

First semester I got a D, but second semester I got a C. And this AP class wasnt a required class. It got elective credit I believe.

UCSD says that we arent allowed to get any Ds or Fs.

They have my FINAL hs transcript. So they see everything.

bbbbuuummp

Take a similar math class in a local community college and send the grade to UCSD. Act fast. They have accelerated summer sessions in community colleges.
