From your experience, what kind of college can a St. Paul’s student with a ~5.5-5.8 GPA get into? My kids is weighing an opportunity there, but I do not think he’d get First Testimonials with honors. I do think he’s capable of being in the top 20-25% of SPS students, though. From your experience, can a SPS student in the 5.5-5.8 get into a lower Ivy, Duke, Northwestern, Georgetown, or that tier of school? If not, what kinds of schools can they be admitted to (assuming no hooks)?

But it’s folly to presume your kid’s GPA at any school before they’ve actually set foot in the classroom.
Your 8th grade kid has amazing options, but the decision on which school really should be based on which high school is best, not which college they can get into
