<p>Looks like there is some disconnect in UMD. From what I have read, you cannot get more scholarship than what you require for tuition, books, room and board.</p>

<p>I would call and ask if this is correct so, if it’s not, they can give the regent’s scholarship to someone else who might actually need it ;).</p>

<p>Haha so the Regent’s scholarship IS the B/K scholarship! How weird and confusing :P.</p>
<p>It’s a special type of Banneker/Key scholarship. It just means your money is sponsored by the Board of Regents instead of wherever the normal scholarship money comes from. There are also other sponsored B/K scholarships–for instance, my girlfriend’s is sponsored by the class of 19__ (can’t remember).</p>
