Registering for the Draft

In the packet from CGA it says the cadets have to register for the draft…my son just turned 18…he got the draft form and in the form it says cadets don’t have to register. Anybody have any thoughts on this? He’s probably going to go ahead and register anyway.

Well he needs to do it regardless of the Academy’s policy. You can’t get social security unless you register with selective service and there are other things you can’t get later on in life…

It is not a big deal to fill in the post card just in case. In any event, Cadets once they take the Oath of Office they are active duty military, so no need to draft them at that point.

I’d do it anyway… when I did it… not even joking took me about 15 seconds to register online

If you don’t send the post card in you face a possible felony charge, fines, and jailtime.
