Registration 101 Uvic help

Hello guys, I just created the account, so pardon me if I make some formatting mistakes.
So, I am an international student that will be attending Uvic this Sept. But I am really confused about the Uvic registration system that I would like someone to help me out if that is possible. That’d be great tbh.

So my major is Economics(BA) and I need to add classes (which is the deadline btw? cause I need to add a lot of them) I went to my Uvic Netlink and they show me some required courses and electives I have to take. This is the site please look at it [University of Victoria - First Year Program Guide](<a href=“Courses without prerequisites - Students - UVic”>Courses without prerequisites - Students - UVic)
Must I add all of these courses for this year? Also it says that I require ECON 103 and MATH 100 but cannot take them together? how does that work? I am really confused.
Additionally, do I also need to take other courses apart from my econ classes and which courses do you suggest I take. If someone could get into everything a freshman needs to know about adding classes, credits per semester, or any information I should know, that would be amazing.

Also, since I do not classify as guaranteed first year dormitory, I will be looking for off campus housing, Does Victoria have a bus system? if I dont have a car, what are some of the forms of transportation.

Lastly, some classes have a lot of different courses taught by different professors, which one should I choose? Or it does not matter. Maybe someone who knows a reference site for professors on Uvic ( this is not that important but I just want to get ill the info I can because you guys seem to know way better)

Thank you for taking the time to read such a wall of text, you would be helping a Uvic freshman A LOT by giving me advice.

anyone? please

Regarding course registration and can’t do ECON103/MATH100 together. Take one in the fall, one in the spring.

I recommend doing a full time course load (5 courses). I am not in economics so can’t advise what classes you should take. Ask your advisor.

When registering courses, remember to add all parts. For example, I believe MATH100 has a tutorial component. Make sure you register this as well.

Victoria has a pretty good public transit system. Check bus schedules before renting a place. Being closer doesn’t necessarily mean easier transit. For example, if you live in downtown area (or along a major road) there will be buses every 5-10 minutes. If you live near UVIC, buses are much less regular and you might have a hard time, despite being close.

As a student, you will have a bus pass (included in cost of tuition).

Professor selection matters a lot. There are good ones and really bad ones. Just google the prof name and read up on reviews (ratemyprof is a good site too).
