Rejents??????????????

I read about many perks offered to rejents and stuff, with the classes money and housing for all four years. Is this exclusively reserved for the top 100 or freshman applicants or can oyu apply for it again, once in UCLA.

Also, i looked at online videos of rooms and liked the sunset village double a lot, it looked nice an roomy, rather than the hitch sweet doubles and high rise living which looked a little more cramped up.

http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/tours/panorama.asp?red_dot=High-rise_Living

Any tips what options to pick when applying for housing to likely get sunset village and also is it costlier than other if so what would be a cheaper option.

Rejents?

ReGents is an invitation only scholarship for entering students (1st years and transfers). You can’t apply for it once you’re in LA.

The only thing first years can do that want to live in Sunset is to mark down that they would prefer the residential plazas (De Neve and Sunset are grouped together on the application). First years and entering transfer students get placed in whatever rooms are left over (current students have already picked out the rooms that they want for next year). You may or you may not get the building you want, depending on the demand and availability of whatever rooms are left.

Plazas (De Neve and Sunset) are the more expensive housing options (namely because they have their own bathrooms- a room w/ a private bathroom is the most expensive, followed by two rooms that share a bathroom). Residence halls are the cheaper housing option.

Do you have to fill out any scholarship information in order to be invited?

Also, if one was to receive a phone call from a UCLA alumni regarding regents, does that mean you have been accepted?

You don’t fill anything out to be invited- all applicants are pre-screened for an invitation.

UCLA alumni have nothing to do with the regents scholarship. Current regent scholars run everything, including contacting and recruiting regent scholars after they’ve received the scholarship (which I think should be around now). You can already check if you received the scholarship or not by looking at your financial aid statement.

Thanks jyancy for the info. Also, my friend was also asked by the ucla alumni if she had a 3.75 because he said, “anyone with a 3.75 or higher will be getting in”. I can’t imagine he would know that kind of information though…even though I hope it’s true!
