Release of Admission Decisions

Hey, does anyone know when UC Berkeley’s admission results came out last year? I heard its usually in mid-March, and earlier than the other unis… Anyone? :D

they are coming out on March 24 this year …

It’s actually later than most UCs. All Berkeley decisions come out on March 24th.

so only 20 more days of waiting …

Ok thanks… omg 18 days :S

16 days!!! Eeeek! =P

UCB admissions are *****, unless you got a 2300 or a 1700 (URM ONLY) dont expect *.

meteman, no expectation, so no dejection and no rejection !!!
18 more days to go …

gtfotu, where did you come up with 16 dyas, geez
I thought your name is go-tofu … nice name though …

URM? What’s that?

lol, it’s not what you think. It stands for ghazain, the future of the universe =P Sorry, 18 days. God. My head. Lol!

URM: under-represented minority…which I am not D:

wait, how do you know if u are URM?
is first generatoin to attend college, income 24k, and immigrant, considered URM. because my sat score is 1650…=[
please tell me if i am URM…

Toss some Hispanic, Black, etc. (minus Caucasians and East Asians), then ya

^Oh, you poor lost puppy… (sorry just had to say it). URM = Under-represented minority and it refers to ethnicity, not background. Notice how there are two parts, under-represented and minority, so you have to be both a minority, meaning not white, and under-represented in universities, meaning non-Chinese/Korean/Taiwanese and occasionally Indians. URM usually stands for Native Americans, various types of Hispanics, and Blacks.

With that being said, don’t try to make up a linear formula for college admissions. Yes, there is a general trend in statistics but there is still a large percentage of students that don’t match the general trend. For example, I’m an OVER-represented minority with “sub-par” SAT scores and got in. And I would say I’m doing at least fairly well in my courses so far.

demoz, you lucky son of a gun …

I am applying as a computer science major, my chance is slim and none, the most competitive major in UCB, shooooooooot …

My friend told me she was accepted already, technically.

Did she elaborate?

for the record though, ucb doesn’t consider based on race or ethnicity or whatever.
So any chance that UCB releases decisions early or are they usually firm on this specific date and time thing? Also I just wish Berkeley would pull a surprise attack and release decisions before UCLA just to mess with UCLA.

^ best for last, as always
