I am not doing this to be mean or to get people to make fun of her, but, seriously, what happened to her? I used to think she was very cute. I don’t spend a lot of time reading celebrity gossip, so I have no idea what her personal life is like or if she has medical issues.

Sorry to say that I’ve always thought Renee was odd-looking and never understood the attraction to her.

Interesting you should ask that. I just saw a photo of her on the tmz website and she looked startlingly thin. And the pursed lips looks affected. I agree with you. Don’t know what happened. She’s supposedly happy now and dating someone seriously, so maybe that’s the Hollywood pressure to be thin impact.

She is a very odd person, to say the least. I know someone who has some inside scoop on her brief marriage to Kenny Chesney. He said, “I had no idea what I was getting into.”

I never thought she was cute, but I do think she is a talented actor.

I’ve always thought Renee Zellweger was particularly unattractive and I never got how people found her good-looking. When my eyes are puffy like that, I put cucumbers on them and call it a day
I’m sure she’s a nice person and a talented actress – just don’t see what others see in her.

re: pursing lips
looks like the expression some people use when they do not like the way their smiles look in photographs.

She has always had a weird smile in photos, sort of like a grimace, so maybe this is her way of compensating? I hate how skinny she looks, but she’s not alone. So many of the actresses are bone thin nowadays. Yuck.

I will avoid movies with RZ in them because she bugs me so much, it’s not that I am looking for Jessica Alba looks, give me a Kathy Bates movie any time, but something about her bugs me such that she is all I think about for the entire movie.

She must despise her full smile as I have never seen her do it!

^LOL. I feel the same way.

The End of Reason. But hey, I loved her in ‘Nurse Betty’ too.

I think I did read somewhere she had plastic surgery- cause she does look different than she used to.
She had a very strong performance in Cold Mountain ( and she won the oscar for supporting actress for it)

But I did like her better when she was rounder, she isn’t the lanky type.

I always like her rounder too. I wish Hollywood would realize that sometimes we like to see people who kinda look like us.

Looks to me as if she’s had work done.

I liked the rounder RZ in Bridget Jones Diary and in Cold Mountain. She was cute in a normal sort of way in the movies that didn’t require a glamourous look.

She is still beautiful, dress well and she is a talented actress.

Usually, her movies are predictable good! Not like other famous that are inconsistent in their performance.

You always can expect a great performance from her.

I didn’t ever think she was beautiful (regardless of whether thin or curvy). I think her features are downright unattractive and homely. I don’t even think she is girl-next-door cute or even quirky-cute like a SJParker.

And somemom, I totally agree!

I loved her in the Bridget Jones’ movies and thought she was very talented in “Chicago”.
She does look different but as a skinny person who is always trying to gain weight, when I see some of the celebrities who are so thin, I wonder if they have the same struggle as I do.

Wow, I wouldn’t ever have recognized her. I too liked her on Bridget Jones. These look awful.

As far back as I can remember, she has done the pursed lip thing in photos. Very odd looking.

I thought she was very cute in Jerry Maguire. Good actress in all her films. Way too thin and masculine looking in *Chicago *despite the great performance.

I’ve wondered the same thing as the OP. I first saw her in Nurse Betty (still one of my favorite movies) and thought she was so cute. Then I saw her in Bridget Jones’s Diary and was absolutely in love. (I likes me the rounder wimmins.) And she’s gone down the tubes ever since. For my tastes, anyway.

Here she is with a big, gorgeous smile. Her teeth look great. I don’t see what the problem would be.
