My son plans to spend the summer (4-6 weeks) in Japan, and he has checked out AFS, ASSE, and Experiment in International Living. They all have good reviews, but also some scary ones, too. Any personal recommendations on these 3 organizations (or other organizations)?
Our daughter spent a good part of last summer in Berlin through CIEE - it was an excellent experience. They do offer programming in Japan, as well. We’d highly recommend them.
We hosted a Thai student for a year through CIEE and have friends who currently have a HS son in Spain for the school year through AFS. Our experience with CIEE was very positive and so far so good for our friends with AFS. Good luck in your search. What a wonderful experience for your son!
