If only I (the OP) were serious and successful enough to make these kinds of distinctions! But I’m happy with my grasshopper life.
This was a fun read. #2 knocked my 22 yr old son out. While he’s not a “gamer” he does enjoy some down time between fortnight and playing his guitar.
I have a 20 yr old daughter and her list would be so different. It’s fun to see different strokes for different folks. That’s why I am sure there is someone for everyone. At least I keep telling my kids that, who would marry tomorrow if they could!! Loyal to a fault!
I am starting to think we need a CC spinoff, of moms set me up!!
D is 20, nursing major. Smart, but not CC level smart. Sorority, volunteering, loves the beach, friends, nights out and nights in. Family is priority, loves dogs, a HUGE empath, would give her shirt off her back to a stranger. Works hard, saves a ton of money from modeling and waitressing. Just wants a good dude who doesn’t talk to 3 girls at once. Loyal, kind, not jealous or controlling, honest, family oriented, compassionate, handsome, flirty, low maintenance, marriage focused and fun/silly. Any taker?
If my son said that to me, I am certain that my response would be, “That shouldn’t be too difficult to find”.
Must like potential future mother in law.
I wouldn’t be married now after 40+ years if that had been a requirement…
Unfortunately, I could not pass that off even as a joke. He knows it, and we know it too
Must know that Brown, Rice are two prestigious universities and not just a starchy food.
And Colgate is not just a brand of toothpaste.
oh wow, are we starting a matchmaking thread? Sign me up! D20 is pretty, low-maintenance, kind, interested and interesting. Looking for a kind, intelligent and liberal-leaning guy. Educated and employed are a plus. She’s only 5’ 3, so anything taller than that is probably all good.
Might not be a bad idea for a separate thread. lol
One of my sons would be a candidate for such a thread!
No Test Optional candidates.
Both of my girls are petite…so it is easy for their SOs to be taller.
Mine are 5’2”, 5’3”, 5’6”, of course the 5’2” one and 5’3” ones are dating guys 6’1”+, my 6’1” son’s girlfriend is 5’2” (drives me nuts as a 5’8” woman who’s H is 5’9”, the petite ones get the tall guys, although I love H and have been married 29 years).
I’m exactly the same height, 5’-9”, as my husband. My two previous boyfriends were over 6’. I haven’t worn high heels for 39 years!
After every failed relationship my daughter has had we make a new list. I’m getting less picky because I need her on her own (she has some mental health issues). So far the guys she has dated failed in one or more of these!
- Not married or in another relationship
- Willing to love her 4 year old and unborn baby
- Loves dogs and cats.
- Her dog likes him,
- Her son likes him.
- He has a job that is stable and pays enough to live
- He has a reliable car.
- No felonies
- Not an alcoholic or drug addict or any other type of addict.
- He has a place to live he can afford.
- He treats her well and can handle her depression and anxiety.
Way different from my high achieving son’s list that his wife totally met!
DIL is 6’ tall. S2 met her #1 criteria – he’s taller than she is (he’s 6’4"). She had a list when she first met him and proclaimed he met 95% of her criteria. She rocked 4" heels at their wedding. S2 loves that she loves travel, wine and food as much as he does. They travel very well together.
H had a list of 17 reasons why it made financial sense for he and I to get married. Oy vey!
