Rescinded from UC Davis? [incorrect credits for course listed on application]

Hello,

I recently got admitted to UC Davis for the Fall 2024 Quarter.
I took 2 courses (pre-calculus pt. 1 and pre-calculus pt. 2) the summer after my sophomore year to advance in a math course in school.
I was looking over my UC application and it seems that I had put that each course was worth 6 “units.” I did this because the college that I took the online summer courses doesn’t specify “units” and I had just looked up online on what a “unit” is worth and made an approximation off of that and how many hours I invested into the courses to come up with the number 6.
However, I found out recently that “credits” and “units” are the same thing. The college I took the courses at says that each course is granted 0.5 credits, and my high school granted 5 credits for each of the courses.
I emailed UC Davis in a panic because I genuinely wasn’t trying to be dishonest over this and it also doesn’t affect my GPA in any way. I’m planning on calling too because UC Davis’ email system doesn’t seem to send confirmations so I’m not sure if the request through the website went through. However, do you think I could get rescinded over this? I’m freaking out so please help.

Thanks!

No.

So they were worth 5 units and not 6 as you indicated? Seems like a pretty minor issue to me. Good luck getting it sorted out!

I agree with the above. They can usually tell when someone is lying for admission and when someone made a mistake, and to me it’s clear it was an accident.

What college and course number?

College credits (or “units” as they are often called in California) are different from high school credits. California high schools typically give 5 high school credits for each semester of high school course (so 10 high school credits for a year long course).

But college credits are more complicated, since colleges may give different credit values for different courses. There is also no direct translation between high school credits and college credits, so two different dual enrollment courses each giving 5 high school credits at the high school may give different numbers of college credits.
