Research opportunities in high school in Canada?

Hi, Mississauga Ontarian here. I see a lot of you have “Did research at U of T over the Summer” or something like that on the Decisions thread.

Could someone please help me with how to do physics research in Canada? I just don’t know what to do or how to get started.

I had an appointment with my guidance counselor, but she didn’t really know that what I was talking about existed.

Any and all help would be GREATLY appreciated.

P.S. I’m in grade 10 right now, and not sure if it helps to know but I am self studying AP Chem, Physics B and Psychology this year (first time I take APs). So i guess i’m doing well in the background knowledge department when it comes to research in high school.

Thanks in advance

Bump? I really need help on this one

From what I’ve heard you’ll need to contact the professors themselves from those universities, as that’s what they claimed to have done. Have you tried talking to the head of your school’s science department? Hopefully he/she has enough authority to make such an endeavor happen, especially given your hard work in self studying AP’s.

Thanks arceuz, sorry for the late reply, thought this thread was dead. Anyways, i guess I’ll probably do this research stuff in the summer after grade 11 if I’m going to be in contact with professors, just so I have as much knowledge and background as possible.
