<p>Actually one of them goes to my school. And he seems pretty perfect…incredibly amazingly smart, perfect grades, high test scores, good ECs.</p>
<p>yes but harvard thinks differently. i am sure those stories you hear about amazing kids not getting in are partially due to untold facts, stats, stories… on the harvard side.</p>
<p>Wait… I thought RSI envelopes don’t get mailed for a week? Wow… people are getting really tense now. Good thing AIME, Chem olympiad, math test, NCSAS, iGEM proposal and State Science fair this week or I would start thinking about RSI too much aswell. </p>
<p>I guess if we get in we should celebrate, but not getting in isn’t something to be too dissappointed about.</p>
<p>Yeah that’s true. I guess I have other plans for the summer anyway, but it would still be nice to go to RSI.</p>
<p>Chill out folks…I believe Matt was refering to decisions for the MIT class of 2010, not RSI. So I don’t think anybody knows if/when RSI decisions are made yet.</p>

<p>cooljoe: If you want to take it, take it… I’m sure it would look good to RSI but I don’t think it’ll make or break you. The moral of the story is that you should take it if you want to take it, regardless of how it’ll look to RSI.</p>

<p>I think I’ve said this before, but I’ve basically come to terms with my rejection before even receiving the letter. It’s easier that way. If I do get in it’ll be a nice surprise, but considering my (lack of) qualifications I sincerely doubt it. I applied to Clark University’s Summer Science Program (another free program) but I’m predicting rejection there as well, just to be safe. I do have a neuroscience research internship lined up at Georgetown University for the beginning of the summer, which I’m ridiculously excited about, and I’ll be volunteering at Georgetown University Hospital as well. I’ll be doing that even if I get into RSI or Clark U, even if it requires some… creativity… in terms of scheduling/time management. 
If I don’t get into either program I’ll probably just spend the rest of the summer traveling in Europe with the family. </p>

<p>Some years they’ll mail out the acceptances early. As I recall, I got mine sometime in the middle of March, even though it said on the website March 31 (this was 2004). Not to freak you guys out and make you check your mailboxes everyday… :)</p>
<p>oh man, acceptances are sent in the middle of march, which has passed, which means i’m a reject for sure… </p>

<p>haha naw last year I found out on the 28th or the 29th. And rejections and acceptances are mailed at the same time. What was really curious last year was how everyone found out at the same time. Usually, local mail can take as little as 1 day and cross-country mail (like me) can take 5 or 6 days.</p>
