Research Science Institute (RSI) 2010

They sent out rejections later last year.

Congrats to those who got in!!

ragster, are you sure they send out rejections later? Why would they do that… I feel like they send out all notifications at once. It only seems like they send out the acceptances first because those who got accepted would obviously not hesitate to say so. If you notice, Percy made the account and started posting here after getting accepted. I doubt Percy would have made the account just to tell us about getting rejected. Do you see the logic? It’s just a theory though.

In any case, I’m west coast so assuming they all got sent out March 5th, it will take until at least Wed. earliest to reach here i’m guessing.

aww it’s going to be forever until i get my letter… :frowning: do they ever email stuff??

@ragster: i was wondering where you got specifically “Thursday” from. I know last year they sent out rejection letters a LOT later (one of my friends got in, the other didn’t; the difference in letter-reception times was more than one or two weeks), so I was just wondering if you knew something.

anyways, I do think it’s kind of silly that a science-oriented program is still using sporadic snail mail, as opposed to email.

It’s more exciting :)

omg i just got in!!

its dated the 4th of March, btw

wolfee, where are you from?

i’m from florida

Well, looks like acceptance and rejection letters were sent out the same time this year— no luck for me (I’m from Georgia).
I’m not at all upset; given the number of people who applied, probably with better credentials than me, it was a complete and utter crapshoot.
I still think the essays provided a nice opportunity to reflect on myself and will be helpful for next term’s college admissions. Also, I will have had the experience of applying to something with a lower acceptance rate than Harvard!
Anyway, I’ll probably be taking some classes at UGA and see about working in a lab over the summer.
Congratulations to all of you who made it! Have a great summer!

Congrats! Wolfee, do you mind sharing your stats?

quite frankly, i have no idea why i got in…

2370/1590 SAT
225 PSAT
790 SAT II Math
770 SAT II Biology

I’ve done two previous independent research projects that didn’t get published or anything, and I’ve done a lot of science-based community service…

West coast rejection here :-(. But then I am a sophomore, so maybe better luck next year! Congrats to those with acceptances.

Hey wolfee, what is some of the community service you have done? I’d love to find something “science based”, but can’t think of anything at the moment.

Yes, my rejection arrived :D

anyone fromTristate? acceptance or rejection?

rejected from NJ

accepted from CT. I literally collapsed with shock after getting the letter. Wolfee, do you know if anyone’s put together a fb group yet?

Hahaha i basically did the same thing greenbean12t

And i don’t think anyone has. If they have, I can’t find it.

Rejected.

Can everyone who got accepted post their stats?

hey MyBlsflHrt…ur from Allentown? Parkland School District? (i lived in Allentown for 7 years)
