Resetting The Clocks

I remember when the night before time changed (or sometimes the morning of) going around the house and changing multiple clocks - wall clocks, alarm clocks, appliance clocks…I always kind of hated it!
These days the only clocks I have to change are the stove/microwave clocks and my car clock (don’t know if newer cars do that automatically???)

How many clocks did you need to change?

All.

Power went out

None for me. My H is the head clock resetter - he reset the stove & microwave clocks, the bedroom alarm clock, and the vehicle clocks (our cars aren’t fancy enough to reset their own).

Four digital in kitchen, wall clocks in kitchen and bathroom, two bedside clocks, three watches. Husband gets to do anniversary clock, other bedside and bathroom clocks, study wall clock, pool cleaning panel, and his old Audi. My eight year old CRV resets itself - as does our outdoor clock.

Kitchen stove and microwave as well as car.

Putting into perspective, Buckingham Palace has over 600 clocks and Windsor Castle has 450+. Now admittedly, Chuck and Camilla aren’t resetting them themselves, but changing my microwave clock pales in comparison.

And they probably all tick and/or gong. That would drive me absolutely batty.

I think we have only 3 clocks now that need to be reset. Sometimes I ask DH to wait a day or two for the fall change. Then I can read the stove clock, worry a bit that I am late and then be pleasantly surprised that I have another hour. So silly the games I play in my head.

Well, once you figure it out, I have a favor to ask.

None. Arizona.

I’m guessing @HImom is equally happy.

Microwave, stove, cars. And I change H’s watch for him. We lose power so often, I can do this all in my sleep.

As soon as you tell me how to teach my cats how to read a clock.

Get off my head; the clocks changed, so you have another hour until breakfast.

Since I have four dogs, I am now going to have nightmares about a cat sitting on my head. (I already get puppy mugged every morning.)

On an equally serious note, our refrigerator has multiple blinking lights. Not sure whether or not one set of blinking lights is a clock, but we literally paid an appliance repairman to reset the blinking lights about 2 years ago. Beginning to wonder what Georgia Tech taught all of our relatives with EE degrees–or maybe they just enjoy the show.

I don’t really mind changing the car clock now that there’s an “adjust time” option on the menu. My old car had a byzantine system involving holding multiple buttons down simultaneously and hoping it wouldn’t change the radio presets.

First DST without my dog, I hated that.

I literally have no idea how to reset my clock, can’t be done while I’m driving (the only time I have H in the car), every time I take it to the mechanic he messes with it.

Three digital clocks in the kitchen, microwave, oven, and air fryer; I can touch all 3 at one time! I am a bit anal and try to set them within a second of each other using my iphone as a guide. I hate seeing 3 different times on them at the same time. I do the same with my cordless landline phone, which is also right by the air fryer, so 4 clocks I can see at one time.

I also have 2 battery operated clocks, one in the bathroom and one in the den, then there is the GK sound machine/clock that I need to do. At least my car updates itself. After my house, I have to go to my mother’s place and do all of hers. I reminder her several times last night that only her cell would automatically change. I think I have 4 to change at her house.

Just my old clock radio. My car and oven/microwave do it automatically.

Ahh, you reminded me. We have a small battery operated clock in one bathroom and an old Pottery Barn sterling silver clock on the living room bookshelves that I need to change!

Microwave, stove, and mantle clock on fireplace.

I had many classmates who came from Hawai’i for college. Most of them did not know about the time change.
