<p>I am looking for recommendations for dining out in Buckhead, Atlanta. I would like to find a mid-priced restaurant where we can host a large group of students. I would like the restaurant to be quiet enough so we can hear each other speak, but hip enough to have fun. </p>

<p>Quiet? Now that’s a tall order. For midprice casual, I would suggest Buckhead Diner, which doesn’t take reservations but will do call-ahead priority seating. Yummy food and good service and you can dress down if you like.</p>
<p>There’s also a Maggiano’s–a chain but serves Italian food family style, so may be easy to order for a bunch of kids and is a larger restaurant.</p>
<p>I would suggest looking on yelp dot com and selecting your neighborhood and price point to get other options.</p>

<p>I was also going to suggest Maggiano’s if you can get a room or corner that is separated from the dining room. “Quiet” really is a tough one. So many of the restaurants require shouting these days.</p>
<p>How many people are we talking about?</p>
<p>Not in Buckhead, but near Emory if that is what you need: Abattoir. Casual, but outstanding food. Not sure about private room options, but lots of nooks and crannies. Prices are more than fair. Also, for a restaurant whose name means “slaughterhouse,” a surprisingly good assortment of veggie options.</p>
<p>You could also consider dining in Decatur. I like it a lot more than Buckhead. Less flashy, lots of great food. The Brick Store Pub has great beer and hearty food. A few spaces upstairs might work for a group. The Iberian Pig is yummy, but loud. My favorite is Leon’s Full Service. It might be loud, but it is very cool, has super food, and would be a hit with students.</p>
<p>I took a group of a dozen or so to Veni Vidi Vici in midtown. It was very well received and I thought they did an excellent job.</p>

<p>We have a change of plans. We are now looking for a nice sports bar (want to watch the World Series) in Buckhead, Decatur or someplace close. I would appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!</p>
<p>How large a group? As for sportsbars there is Hudson’s grille in Brookhaven and an Irish pub called Fado’s.</p>
