Resume

I’ve had 3 jobs in high school so far and I want to include it on my application but I don’t see anywhere for it in the online app (activities only include extracurricular activities ), so does this mean I have to submit a resume in order to include this info?

In the online app, extracurricular response, I’ve included most of my important clubs and activities, so should I write them again in the resume?

I feel like if I do, I’m just repeating myself, and is unnecessary, if I don’t, would it be weird if my resume only included my jobs?

Thanks

I’m pretty sure I put my jobs in that part of the app… But you could still send a resume. If your resume is mostly extra currics, you might wanna actually detail the 3 jobs you’ve had and leave out the activities. If you don’t know what I’m talking about see the jobs part of this: [url=http://www.adventuresineducation.org/HighSchool/Jobs/SampleResumes/resumesample3.cfm]AIE | High School Students | Sample Resume 3/url. A resume is a tool which is REALLY tailored for a specific purpose, so theoretically every job you apply to will require reworking your resume. A resume being sent to a college obviously does not have the same purpose as a resume being sent for a job interview so they SHOULD be different. There’s no one catch-all resume. Just saying. Since you’ve held 3 jobs, you might wanna consider toning down how many activites are on your resume in general, anyways (employers care more about jobs, activities are use for high school students with little job experience - unless they’re relevant activities to the job you’re seeking to acquire).

also: “would it be weird if my resume only included jobs” …sorry, i missed that the first time around… LOL… ummm if possible only include jobs on your resume. try googling: resume site:faculty.virginia.edu I see no activities on their resumes…

Resumes are just extraneous information and I would avoid submitting it if at all possible. You should just focus on listing the most important activities or extra curriculars in your application.
