Merit is quite uncommon at Rice, probably because they offer just good need based aid (the Rice Investment).

Rejected for Physics. But we already have UCLA and USC so not sad about it.

Got into Rice! ~$70k needs-based grants and $20k Barbara Jordan scholarship, which is basically a full-ride :slight_smile:

My son, who I homeschooled since the beginning all the way through, was accepted into Electrical Engineering! We still canā€™t believe itā€¦ 4.67W, 4.0 UW, 54 college credit hours, electrical engineering internship, competitive fencer, Vice President Science Olympiad, Coding Mentor at the public library, Teen Library Council, and volunteer at a local ranch for disabled animals. Many amazing ECs including debate club, pianist, creative writer. Showed no demonstrated interest. 35 ACT. We still are in disbelief.

Did those who got admitted also get an email this evening about admitted students day? My son had decided to wait to open all of these last decisions this week together on friday so didnā€™t go into the portal today but got an email about admitted students day! Can i take this as confirmation that he was admitted??

Well, admitted here and for portal astrology fans, was part of the little glitch mid day where we could see on the financial aid calendar and when we clicked a date it had the ā€œnot yet availableā€ message, not the ā€œaccess deniedā€ so it was definitely a clue.
