Can we compare USC offer with rice?
I would try.
Where can I see average GPA for Natural science majors?
Rice does not admit to major. You do not have to declare your major until your sophomore year. The major on your application is not binding in any way.
Yes they donât accept by major. I would like see majors with average GPA like you can see in UCLA/UCB.
Hi, incoming freshman to rice here. I just got an email earlier today asking me to activate my netID, and when I tried it didnât work. It kept on saying I didnât put in the correct info, but I did. I read somewhere that you have to wait until the rice RD enrollment deadline⊠and I have absolutely no idea if this is right or not (I also donât know the Rice RD deadline ). Can somebody please confirm?
My daughter said she was able to activate her NetID by following the instructions in the email. Maybe contact them if you still canât get yours to work. Good luck
The average GPA of students admitted to that major or current students taking classes as natural science majors?
Average GPA of graduated seniors in natural science majors.
I donât know if Rice publishes that information. But I do that the top 30% of graduates in Natural Sciences last year had a 3.9 GPA or above (because that was the cut off for graduating cum laude last year).
We went to admitted owl day yesterday, do you know anywhere they have residential college floor plans?
I donât think youâll find that anywhere. You can try looking at each individual college website and seeing if they post anything, but I doubt they all will.
I would not spend much time worrying about the individual colleges. Students will be assigned randomly and they all end up loving where they end up. Every new student thinks they want the newest college because they think the facilities will be the nicest, but itâs the culture of the residential colleges that make them special.
If you are a parent, if your student chooses Rice, I would recommend joining the parent Facebook page (the official one associated with the university - though you wonât be added until maybe early June when they approve the new parents). Once college assignments are made (mid-summer) there will be a lot of talk there about each college and lots of sharing of photos, videos, etc.
It is horrifying. I cannot imagine what students, faculty, and staff are going through in dealing with this regime.
Almost every T20 college uses this system. Its not just Rice haha
Rice is not required to curb DEI. I do not know of any Top 20 schools that do not have robust DEI programs.
Ohhh I thought you were talking about the undeclared major thing haha mb
One of the google search results.
https://www.martel.rice.edu/new-students/rooms-at-martel/
If you search for other colleges, such as Duncan or Jones, google will give you some results.
Ah yes, I was thinking more like floorplans for the whole college. Not just room layouts. You might find the rooom layouts typical of each college in their O-Week books too - many have last years book posted on their website. Some colleges have have very standard rooms for all freshmen (all will get the same layout basically), while others have a wide variety of rooms.
okay
Waitlist student here: was wondering if anyone on the waitlist has received anything thus far?
I was brought out of a waitlist for one of my other privates already, so i donât think its too early to ask, but still hopeful.
