So sad, beautiful, moving. Hunter and Ashley were so impressive. Pres Obama’s eulogy was eloquent, and his sincerity obvious. Ugh, wrung out, lots and lots of tears.
I turned it on late so I missed the earlier eulogies. I don’t think I can bear to go back and watch.
It was a great service. And, happily, very much unlike the Catholic funerals I have attended for friends and family, which always ended up being more about Catholicism than the individual. This one had a nice balance between expressions of institutional religious faith and personal elements.
I just watched the 3 eulogies in their entirety. Hunter’s moved me to tears, the hand holding part wrenching my heart strings. Ashley had me smile when she said Beau would take her everywhere with him, she even visited him often in college. His friends nicknamed her “flea” because she was always so close to him.
It was very sad but heartwarming to see such a close family and many to lean on.
