RIP Kate Spade

What a tragedy! I am a huge fan of her designs and this news is a complete shock.

So horribly sad - I too love her designs.

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: Call 1-800-273-8255

How very sad.

@sabaray thanks for posting the lifeline phone number! H’s brother committed suicide 10 years ago this September. I am not sure any of us will ever be all the way over it. It is worth it if just one person is saved by calling that phone number.

What a shock. I am aware that status and wealth are no protection from mental health struggles - even with money and connections sometimes it is hard for sufferers to ask for or get appropriate help. How sad.

So very sad. She leaves behind a thirteen year old daughter.

Just saw this. Very upsetting to me when I hear of anyone taking their own life. :frowning:

My FIL committed suicide. It’s just devastating for all. So. So very sad.

What sad news. I also really like her simple but nice designs.

Very sad for her family and friends.

I just happened to look at some of her handbags the other day, though I didn’t buy anything.

Shocking and sad.

I am holding her cute tote bag at the moment. RIP.

She left behind a 13 year old daughter… that poor, poor girl…

DD texted me the news. Really really sad.

I am such a pain averse person. I cannot imagine hanging myself when there are numerous peaceful pharmaceutical ways out of this life. She must have been in a lot of mental/emotional pain to have done this.

:frowning: She was my age. I bought a beautiful iPhone case from her collection.

My childhood friend killed himself 2 years ago today. Left behind a wife, 13 year old son, parents and a sister. The pain created after a suicide is indescribable. Praying for her family’s strength during this difficult time.

Very, very sad. “How I Built This” podcast interviewed her several months ago and it was interesting listening how she and her husband built the company.

I had no idea David Spade was her BIL.

@CottonTales, I didn’t either.
