Robotics

I am trying to find a Florida University that offers a BS in Robotics and if any dont is Computer Science and Physics double major good degrees in the field of robotics?

Electrical and Mechanical engineers work in Robotics (as do computer science). You may want to look at ME programs that have a concentration in Mechatronics.

Check out the Nonlinear Controls and Robotics lab at UF and the backgrounds of it’s research members. It’s a good cross-section of the type of degree’s folks get that want to work in the field.

So I should double major in EE and CS then with a minor in ME?

No. I wouldn’t recommend a double major for engineering (with a few exceptions like Aero engineering/Mechanical engineering), your time is better spent doing a combine degree (BS/MS), and working on design teams/research.

For in-state public universities, take a look at UF, FSU, UCF and USF.

At UCF for example, the “Intelligent Robotic Systems Minor” is intended to provide an introduction to the field of robotics to students interested in careers or graduate study in this area. This minor is specifically targets student in Electrical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science.

At UF, other than the Nonlinear Controls and Robotics lab, UF also has the Machine Intelligence Laboratory (MIL), where you can get involved with multiple design teams, such as SubjuGator, InstiGator and PropaGator.

FSU/FAMU and USF also have some unique offerings.

Good Luck!

Is it possible to get a BS in EE and a minor in CS then use the credits from CS to make it a BS later on ?

You could get your minor in CS, or even a dual EE/CS degree (I had a roommate in college that did just that). If you’ve taken the right CS classes as an undergraduate student, you could apply to a Master’s program in CS, and end up with a BS in EE and a Masters in CS.

You’ll have lots of options, don’t feel you have to choose one of them now.
